Wed, Nov. 30th, 2005 08:39 pmWell... that was an adventure XD;
I knew Marion was bad for parking, but honestly, HALF AN HOUR to find a smegging park? Bloody hell XD;; Ended up calling everyone a smeeee-heeeeeee after about ten minutes =D
Fi~nally got into Marion, had lunch, wandered around for... some amount of time looking for shoes for K8 (yay. Shoe shopping. Thrilling .-.;;) and then~~ Christopher (K8's younger brother) broke my thong =D;; So I was walking around bloody Marion with one thong on, trying and failing to not look like a bogan until I got some new ones in... K-Mart. Maybe. I dunno, but they were $10 that I'd rather not have had to spend =P Still, they're shinier than my old thongs, so we're happy =D
And them omfg! Freaky stuffed giraffe lady! XD;; We got roped into having this lady stuff a toy for us, sying "I'll give you a quick demonstration, show you how it's done =D Don't worry, it won't take long =D" So K8 picked the giraffe, and we had it stuffed... then she started going on about how we'd be getting a birth certificate and a cradle with it, and what we wanted to name it. So the four of us kinda exchanged glances, all thinking "Holy crap she's going to make us pay for it, isn't she?" or words to that effect.
$29 for that thing. It shouldn't've been worth more than maybe $10, $15 tops. So we were stuck wandering around Marion throwing this bloody thirty-dollar stuffed giraffe in a cardboard cradle at each other and wondering if we could put it up for adoption until I finally went back and got a refund. Because seriously, she'd said DEMONSTRATION, and there was no mention of price until some random woman walked up and asked how much they were. So yeah. Lucky I got out of that one >>; Makes you wonder how many people get roped in tho, thinking they're getting a demonstration then having to buy the thing at the end of it all.
The reason we went down there tho, was for Corpse Bride, whih makes me now want to see Nightmare before Christmas =D Colin was the only one who didn't like it. Silly boi =3
Oh yeah, and when we came out to go back to the car, two security guards were pinning a bloke to the ground, and his mate was next to him saying "Why'd you have to steal that stuff? Now we've got a cop coming!" So that was exciting. Saw the afformentioned cop coming down the road just as we were leaving X3
I've never had such an eventful trip to Marion before XD;;
