Welp, I've seen Mum and Dad off after a last coffee before they head up to Bali in about an hour. I'll have to make do with Channel 7 for the footy for the next three weekends =/

For the rest of the day I went light shopping and, briefly, curtain shopping. I've got a couple of curtain samples from Spotlight, one of which is friggin PERFECT for the bedroom, so I'll see about getting a quote tomorrow when I take the samples back.

Lighting, I think I've looked at every place that sells lighting in the general southerly area. Four places on Anzac Highway, couple on South Road and Marion Road, Ikea and Masters down at the airport. The following is just consolidating for my own purposes.

BEDROOM
01. Odense from Beacon Lighting. One large coolie (the one at the front) $289, one large cone $125.40 and one small cone $199 (yes that's correct; the large one is discounted). Totalling $613.40 and I'm peeved that I couldn't find any cheaper alternatives. There were a lot of similar ones, with the wood at the top and a white shade bit, but the shade bit was always solid metal so it looked dull. The frosted glass is just so PRETTY.
02. Bave from Ikea. $79
03. Ledlux Alsace from Beacon Lighting. $89.40
CONCLUSION
Not sure which of the two spotlights I prefer. I'm not overly ecstatic with any of the spotlights on offer, really.
$702.80, worst case, but only $10 less for best case. Mrr.

STUDIO
01. OH GOD WHERE DID I TAKE THAT PHOTO. WHO WAS HAVING THE CLEARANCE. ARG. $55 if I can ever find it again. I just know I took that one last weekend, and I thought I was only at Beacon last weekend but clearly I ended up somewhere else??? DAMNIT.
02. Untitled thing from Masters. Only $29 as evidenced from the price tag but it's kinda boring.
03. Pinto on the right, Corso on the left, from Beacon Lighting. Not interested in the middle one. Discounted they're $79.76 each. I'd go with Pinto cos the cone's more interesting. But dollars.
04. Troy 3 from De-lights. $44.95, but no glass casing.
05. Brilliant Kathryn from Bunnings. $49.90
06. Bolle in green from De-lights. Frigging $124.95 why. I'd love just one of those as a highlight but let's be real, that's a dumb idea.
CONCLUSION
So, most likely the three Kathryns from Bunnings for a tad under $150 in total. That's half the price Beacon wants, and Beacon's is even reduced with staff discount. HAH I win.
$149.70 for the studio.

LIVING AND DINING
01. Oakton from Beacon Lighting. One large for $129, five small for $75.96 each (two with the large in the living, the other three over the dining table). Haven't been completely sold on these, though. They're a bit... meh. $508.81 all up.
02. Napa and Remy from Lightspot on Anzac Highway. $89.90 each. BEAUTIFUL I LOVE THEM. Cluster three in the living room, three more over the dining room table making $539.40 all up.
CONCLUSION
Napa and Remy from Lightspot on Anzac Highway. The end!
$449.50 and I can't see that changing.

Sooooo after my initial quote from just Beacon Lighting for a tad over $1500, I've whittled it down to a total of $1391.90. Better, but still hurts. See what sorts of discounts I can wrangle out of people. Bunnings won't budge, they're not in the business of haggling. Beacon, for the Odense and possibly spotlights, and Lightspot for the Napa and Remy I can probably talk down. Even if I can get another $50 off each of them that'll be better. Then I get to hire an electrician and everything, too. Ew. Money. BUT THEN PRETTY LIGHTS.
