Stick with what you love! You're a designer, damnit. Don't get turned off by the art theory that's part of the uni course. Seriously. By the time you get to uni, you'll love it. And journos get paid shit-all anyway so even that's not cool.

Those friends you've just made at your new school? They'll dump you in three years. I swear to all that is shiny it's not your fault. Don't ask for their reasoning: they're bitches, that's what you get for going to a rich bitch private school. But that's okay because that'll open you up to the entire world of the Internet and you'll make your best friends of your life there. They'll embrace everything awesome about you, they'll take you around the world, they'll get you into writing and they'll help you meet a thousand people in your head. And they'll stick around for a hell of a lot longer than three years.

In other news, I'm FINALLY able to pick up my Sallie package tomorrow! :DD Australia Post have been cockteases, telling me on Monday I could pick up my package BUT the bastards close at 5. I get home from work at roughly 5:05. So I've had to wait all week knowing it was there but not being able to do anything and ARG. Thankfully they're open Saturday morning so I can finally get it tomorrow yaaaaaay :D

I'm also going shoe shopping tomorrow. Again. I both hate and love it. According to the shoe world I have big feet, usually a 10 1/2. Sizing tends to stop at around 9 1/2, MAYBE a 10, but they never bloody fit. I pull four or five pairs off the racks that I would wear and love, they come back with one, maybe two of them in the biggest size they have, and they're too small so I walk out with nothing. I neeeeeed summer work shoes but they just don't exist for 'big feet'. You can find nice comfortable sandal-type things but they're better suited to shorts and a tshirt than an office environment. Tomorrow I WILL FIND SHOES >O Just you watch me.

Also: toast + cream cheese + smoked salmon trimmings + mangoes on special + fried egg = awesome dinner. That is all :D

I LOVE THIS MOVIE <3 Chocolat~ <3 These three are Madame Odele and her two friends, whose names escape me for the moment. Adorable little old ladies. I love this shot of the three of them walking down the little street, skirts swaying in unison, then a look over the shoulder to Guillaume who has a crush on Mme Odele. SOCUTE. So yes. This is my all-purpose friends icon <3


More from Chocolat since that's still the theme for my icons, even if the layout set has moved on. Vianne (or possibly Joséphine in this shot) paints pretty gold swirlies on a cake. Naturally, this is my icon for artings. Mostly gets used on h_bee


ROUX <3 Possibly my favourite book character ever. Him or Silk from the Belgariad. He's just SO incredibly interesting. Love~ <3 Anyway yes. Here he's talking to Annouk about what kangaroos eat (because for some reason her imaginary pet rabbit friend, Pantouffle, was changed to a kangaroo for the movie for NO REASON AT ALL. Ahem.) so she tells him they eat grass, leaves and worms, so this is his responding "o rly? how interesting" face. It gets used a lot. Cos Johnny Depp is hot. This is the movie that made me start taking notice of him. Roux is so awesome~


Cricket love icon <3 <3 This is Brett Lee, current Australian fast bowler, doing a trademark WOOHOO jump after taking a wicket. I used to hate the guy until a few years ago, because all he did was bowl stupidfast, get hit for plenty of runs and try to decapitate the batsmen rather than get them out. Now he's matured and actually bowls on the stumps, he's become one of my favourite players in the side :D Fact that all my previous favourites retired in the space of a year may have some bearing on this, but still. Binga is awesome now <3


I LOVE ZOIDBERG. He's easily my favourite Futurama character and I'm always quoting him, either in my head or out loud. I was talking with Sallie a while back about how this is my favourite of his quotes, so she made me an icon out of it <3! I use it as my determined or triumphant icon, or~ just to be silly. Zoidberg is awesome <3


One of the four main writing icons. Silber-lub originally made me one of an eagle over the desert, and I've always used that as my writing icon, since pretty much everything has been set in Raykin or at least using Raykinian characters. Since I've now finished Rust and moved onto the Kazinian-based Tarnish, I realised I needed a greener icon for it, so tada~ mushroom in the grass. The other two, for Llayad and Tsayth, Sallie made for me :D
