I'm mostly going to do these day-by-day with the exception of the beginning, because honestly it starts from Adelaide, then there are three-ish days in Sydney and day one is a full day of travel before finally touching down. So this will be all planes and a bit of Sydney in the middle. You have been warned.

Day 01 Tuesday 7 March: Planes )

192/585 photos edited, or around about a third. This is pretty much all I did today until I got bored at dinner time and watched tv instead. But I'm doing them! Then catch up on emails and in tray and I believe I'll be back on track. Wish I could've taken another week at the end just to have a holiday from my holiday XD Alas, no annual leave left.

Other things that have happened:
Teppanyaki dinner at Mum and Dad's featuring the saké I brought back from Japan!
Pizza dinner with Linda at Tony Tomatoes! Much yum was had.
Dentist! The chipped off bit that has been chipped off for years (but not painful or anything) has now been filled in and the old filling replaced. I have tooth there now. 'sweird.
Dinner on Friday night with boything Joseph! Regaled with tales of Japan but not showing photos until they're edited.
Suspected last beach day of the year yesterday. I'll be surprised if it gets warm enough again to go down til next summer.
Footy is awesome right now. Crows ladies won the inaugural AFLW Grand Final, and the boys have started off the season 3-0, including knocking off the flag favourites in round one, our Achilles heel the Hawks in round two, and the Power in the Showdown last night. I have very good feelings about this season 8D

Now I'm going to go read, because I've had enough fiddling with levels and saturation for one day.

I'M HOME which you may have picked up on by the lack of Japan photos on Insta... and that's about it. God there's a lot of stuff to catch up on when you come back from three weeks' holiday. Still not done yet but whatever. Getting back into life is hard.

I've narrowed my camera photos down to those that aren't shit (ie out of focus, unfixably under/overexposed, those that were supposed to be shots of scenery out the train window and turned out to be walls cos the thing was too fast) so next up is the heavier editing of removing people and fixing exposure and levels and such. THEN POST THEM YAY. The plan is to post a day at a time every day, and hopefully keep ahead with the photo editing as they go up. Possibly unlikely but we can hope.

Let me just say for now, Japan was AMAZING. Fuji was the major highlight, followed very closely by Fushimi Inari and dressing up in kimono in Kyoto. The food was amazing, the sights were even more gorgeous than I'd hoped, and I loved everything. Japan is fabulous. I want to go back, probably in autumn to see the leaves turning. That'd be pretty spectacular, I think.

41, 41, 39, 35... yes this is just what I want when I start bleeding =|

Table and wine rack are finished! Read more... )

And I finished a chapter! My god I've been sitting on that thing for literally half a year. Yay.

And Cassie and I have booked Japan accommodation! I am so goddamn excited. We've mostly got reasonably cheap stuff, through Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto (which is where we'll be for half the time), then one nice night in Hiroshima and one REALLY nice night at the base of Mt Fuji with an outdoor onsen and frigging amazing food everywhere. I CAN'T WAIT. It's less than a month away omfg. Now it's all booked it feels really real. EEE!
