So yes, THAT. OH GOD IT WAS AMAZING. I know nobody on my flist will care but it's my sodding journal so there. I'm still grinning. That last over was EPIC. Every dot ball got cheered as though it was a wicket. Even the singles were applauded because it was still restricting them to less than what they needed. And oh god the NOISE. Slow clapping in for every ball from around the entire ground, and before the last ball the cry of "REDBACKS! *clapclapclap* REDBACKS! *clapclapclap*" which put any AFL chants of "ADELAIDE!" to shame. 10,000 people chanting all at once, even the members stand. It was just incredible. Reason I watch sport, ladies and gents.

AND THEN. LAST BALL. Two runs to win, one to tie. NOISE EVERYWHERE. There's no way the players could have heard each other shouting across the ground. I can't imagine the pressure the bowler must've been feeling, but HE DID IT. Restricted them to that one run, and because we'd finished the season at the top of the ladder, that meant we WON THE TOURNAMENT OMFG.

The sheer joy on all their faces. Jumping up and down like maniacs, waving fists and stumps in the air and just basically going "YEAAAHHHH" at the crowd and alskjghask I love my boys.

Michael Klinger, the captain, thanked us all in the presentations at the end, and from the grin and completely unprepared way he was saying it, bloody obvious he meant it. They were just all so happy and ecstatic and eeeeee!

They absolutely revelled in it. They all came around to do a circuit or two of the Oval afterwards, some running around the boundary giving high-fives to the crowd, at least half stopping for autographs and photos and hugs and general words of congratulations. I got a hug from Cameron Borgas, who had been fielding in front of me for the innings. He was fun :D There was one point where he sorta fumbled a boundary save a bit, so it bounced right up over his head and he was scrabbling over the ground to stop it going for four and generally looking very undignified. He laughed at himself when they replayed it on the big screen, though X3 And yaknow, that save ended up saving the game, so WOO!

I got autographs from several of them, hugs from, as I say, Borgas and Crosthwaite, the wicket keeper, and photo with Crosthwaite, too, and they were all just so happy and, dare I say it of grown sportsmen, squee. THEY JUST WERE OKAY.

Just amazing. I love those boys so much. Beware the parochial South Australian X3

No sporting event I've ever been to--or, likely, ever will be to--could possibly top that. And I was there when we beat Geelong, and various other amazing cricket and footy wins. Seriously, nothing will top last night. It was epic.

lakjsdgha Still elated about the cricket last night. OH GOD IT WAS EPIC AWESOME akjsgha I love my boys. Whatever the hell happens here on Tuesday for the international final, nothing can come close to the absolute elation of the state win. But I'll get to that with photos in a sec. For the moment, playing with new camera! )

I also took some arty photos of leaves and bullrushes along the river, so I'll stick them up on [livejournal.com profile] h_bee after the cricket set. HEE new camera so shiny~

Wrote all about this trip here~ so now you just get photos! )

This didn't come yesterday cos I was at the cricket~ and got sunburnt, so I was exhausted and went to bed early. But here it is now :D

So, from KL we took the train to Singapore, because, despite the short distance, getting to Singapore by plane from Malaysia is LOLEXPENSIVE. So are cars. Basically, the Singaporean government doesn't like the locals going to Malaysia for cheap clothes/electronics/etc so they stop them by making it expensive to get there and back again. Sucks to be Singaporean. Anyway yes. The train station in Singapore is, curiously, Malaysian-run. We kept being told that it was your laaaast little taste of Malaysia, and upon arrival, it was obvious where this came from XD NOTHING MADE SENSE <3 The luggage came straight off the train onto the platform, no carousel or anything, the trolleys were down the other end of the platform and didn't work, there were no officials but for the ones who didn't know anything (namely, where do you go to take a taxi? Where do you go to get OUT of this building?) and~ there were no directions anywhere until you actually found the place, then in big letters it was EXIT or TAXIS. Combination of lols and ARG here, because damnit we were officially, legally and geographically in Singapore by this point, things should make SENSE. Malaysia is like a weird cross between Singapore and Indonesia, I swear.

After our gooooorgeous boat ride through the jungle and lotus flowers on Lake Chini, we drove the rest of the way to KL to stay at The Nomad Sucasa, which is sort of a cross between an apartment and a hotel room. Only intended for short stays, you get room service including making your beds while you're out during the day, but it's the size of an apartment, including kitchenette and the biggest bathroom I've ever seen that wasn't in a house. After the tiny cramped thing we had at Club Med, it was kind of enormous.

Tomorrow~ the rest of KL, including a mosque, more of the Petronas Towers and a view from the KL towers. And also some other random stuff that really doesn't fit into any category but Kuala Lumpur At Large.

Finally getting around to finishing these off. Three more batches after this one, and I'll actually do all the resizing and saving of them tonight, so all that'll remain is to babble about them :D

So, after leaving the fabulous gloriousness of Club Med, Cherating Beach behind, we set our sights on the big smoke of KL. As I said in the last batch (...several months ago *cough*) we rented a car to drive back to KL with and stop off along the way. We aimed for Lake Chini, known for its lotus flowers and general tranquillity. Not so well known for its accommodation.

Tomorrow~ we hit the big smoke, Kuala Lumpur :D

So Club Med has its own personal rainforest )

And thus concludes Club Med and associated mini-trip. Tomorrow will be the drive back to KL, which includes some REAL jungle and also lotuses. My favourite part of the trip, for srs.

Considered doing this in my ScrapBook but meh. This is easier and requires less loading in the long run. Roughly 50 images per batch, hopefully a batch per day for the next... six. Ahahaha yeah~ >> THIS IS CUT DOWN FROM 500 I SWEAR.

So! Without further ado, we begin our journey in Kuala Lumpur )

Thus concludes batch 1 :D Tomorrow~ or whenever I get around to it~ will be the rainforest, beach, and wildlife, including monkeys, squirrels and GOs :D

When you're bored, make up a steal someone else's meme.

1. Comment on this post with a letter, word or phrase
2. I will take a photograph of something in my room that I associate with that word/phrase, or that begins with that letter
3. I will post the photographs in a new post with a babble about the objects.
