[community profile] figjam and [community profile] yrae are done, yaaaaay. Though I may down the track make Fig Jam more landscape and image friendly. Not now, though. That's as far as I can be arsed going with any of them for now. I'll slowly but surely go through adding memories to both of them, too. I use them all the time.

Because of the whole Sydney trip less than two months ago, Alex hasn't come to Adelaide for Christmas/New Year this time, so we decided we'll go see movies on the same day and then Skype afterwards and it'll be like we saw them together. Today we saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. IT WAS AWESOME. I feel like I was just watching the animation for half of it. It was incredible. It really did look like a moving comic book. The way everything flashed around and moved, the dynamic slow-mo 'frames' that just... omg it was awesome. When stuff was out of focus in the background, it wasn't blurred, but it was just colour-shifted a bit, so you got the RGB or CMYK out of register and it was so cool. SO COOL.

The characters and the comedy were so much fun. The story was great. I just loved it. I could go see that again for sure.

...I never mentioned Christmas. Whoops. I'm very in-the-moment when I do tpyo entries. Anyway. Christmas was just a perfect day. Very warm, but up at Mum and Dad's in the Hills so it was pleasant enough. We started with punch, bubbly and the best nibbles you ever did see on the back veranda, hung around there for a while until Laura came up after nursing, and then the most perfectly Christmassy moment I've ever experienced. My cousin lives up in Darwin and flew down that morning to Adelaide. My aunt and uncle knew nothing about this. When she turned up, aunt was instantly in tears and uncle was just :O for a solid five minutes, until Mum asked if he was all right... then he burst into tears, too. I've NEVER seen him so emotional. It was just beautiful and so squee. Even by the end of the day I don't think he was over it, socute.

Lunch was all the usual suspects but not as you know them (for Christmas lunch, anyway). The prawns and ham and crackling and cranberry were in the nibbles; the turkey was in the entrée as a salad with jellyfish (omg it was so good); the salmon was for mains (as a full side of salmon with leek and mushrooms wrapped in pastry); the gin and tonic was the sorbet; and the pudding and cherries were in a cheesecake semifreddo for dessert. I'd say Mum's best Christmas lunch for sure. It was all so perfect and delicious, omg.

Also, Mum got me a mandolin for Christmas XD I happy.

I know I should really update on my Cassie holiday, but right now I have to celebrate a MILESTONE of ten years of Yrae Chronicles. Ten years ago today I met my twins in this completely random snippet thing. Back then I only had that image in my mind. Yamin's name fell onto the page, and because I didn't expect this thing to go anywhere, because I expected it to just be a random stand-alone thing, because I didn't want to lose my flow but still needed a sodding name for her sister, I just flipped Yamin's name in reverse.

Since then, Nimay's gone from being the general of the entire Raykinian army, quite handy but nothing spectacular with a sword, to being the general of just those fifteen blokes and ranked about number 4 in the kingdom with her sword (behind Rumal, Emon and Melraan). Also, according to how many fics I wrote on the topic, she was far more assassin than warrior. That's probably her biggest change.

Also Raykin hasn't gone to war in decades. And they ride camels, not horses. And the archers aren't nearly so dominant anymore. And wtf pushing fifty siege rams all the sodding way to Kazin. Though I do remember there was some internal conflict going on in Raykin at the time. I think it may have been halfway towards being Kazin, but the more I got to know those guys, the less merit the idea had. Raykin's too laid back to go to war with itself. Also the yrae is a shitload less impressive than it was back then because it has BOUNDARIES now and I know how the thing works. Took years to work that out. YEARS.

Yamin's pretty unchanged. She's always been shy but happy and friendly. Certain facts have been added, but as far as her character and role goes, she's the same as she was waaaay back at the beginning. NO WAIT. She used to be a scribe rather than a healer. I'm not sure why, tho a healer is a hell of a lot more use in SH now than a scribe was ever going to be. Man, if I'd persisted with the scribiness I'd probably ship her even harder with Nol than I do now >> My otp that will never happen <3

Yan doesn't appear in that fic, but he appeared later that night, along with a WHOLE bunch of story. Yan is the one I have least NO control over. None. I feel like with the twins, with Nol, with the Kazinians and the Own and everyone else, I'm the one changing their professions or giving them certain fears or hopes. Yes, they change on their own more often than not, but they're changes I expect and understand and all is good. Yan feels like a stranger who just rocked up as a complete person and I've only been finding things out about him, not giving life details to him. I learn something and realise I've been writing him wrong all this time and he just won't tell me at the time. He used to kill people on a whim. Now I'm not even sure he killed the twins' parents. I bet he could count the number of people he's killed, over four thousand years of not-life, on one hand. And he regretted every one of them for centuries. He just started out as 'the bastid' and kept that moniker until I realised Ni-Yana was named after him. Yes, the city's name came before the man's. SEE? Learn things about him but don't give them to him. He's the one I can ramble about the most but when it comes to writing him... god he's hard to get across.

AND THEN CAME NOL. I think. I have a funny feeling Melraan came first as the 'I need another army person *POOF*' character which is why he just epitomises the Own. But yes. Nolryn came in several months later (possibly in October, being as that's when his birthday is, but I'm not sure). He was evil. Genuinely he was the villain-who-wasn't-Yan. The charm was a façade to hide the evil. He was working with Yan and hadn't even been manipulated into it. And then he grew, as so often they do, and I think he's possibly my favourite now. As long as he's not talking politics, he's the easiest to write, and I don't think that's just because he's the only one of the three narrators I have at the moment who talks. He just feels like the most complete. The twins... still kind of feel like the product of a teenager's mind at times. Yan, as we've discussed, was not created so much as he rocked up and just let me figure him out as I went along.

The rest came as conscious decisions (I need a Llayan/healer friend/army master/Kazinian royal/parents for Nol/etc I KNOW HERE'S ONE *poof*) and more-or-less developed as I told them to. 'Cept Assili, she's come along much more than I was expecting her to, the little dear <3

Sum total, over a full decade, including two finished SH novels, three uncompleted SH:Rust drafts, one finished and two unfinished NaNovels, a handful of shorts and novellas and hundreds of minifics and writing memes and challenges: 886 245 words. You can bet your backside it'd be over a million if I counted the stuff I've written about it.

And there, all the way from day one a decade ago, there's been one person who's ridden right alongside me with it all. My Sallie, who's read just about every one of those nearly 900 thousand words (give it a month or two and she will have, I'm sure X3). For encouraging me with the crack and the serious, for letting me ramble and plot and throw characters at, for creating some of the most interesting people in Tsyllaes, for reading nearly a million words of my innermost everything: Thank you. I love you so so much. I feel like I'm writing it all for you as much as for myself. I had meant to draw you something awesome in thanks but the deadline has crept up on me much quicker than I was expecting! I'll draw you something this year, have no doubt <3

The other who of COURSE deserves a thing that I haven't yet drawn is Shanra. She's been the first to read every chapter since she hopped on several years back, and always offers the most invaluable advice (and inevitable squees and wails X3) over the course of the writing. You absolutely take to heart my 'rip it to shreds' rule of being a beta reader and I love you so much for it. I could not ask for better <3 It's your demands for MORE that get me off my arse to finish the next chapter X3 I love you. Thank you <3

To all those who've read anything of the Yrae Chronicles, be it a few random minis or the first couple of chapters of Silent Harmony (which, let's be honest, getting on a bit now) to those magnificent two who've persisted through to the end: Thank you all.

Also, this being the year of finishing things, next on the list is Blade Archer! I reread the whole of it last night to remind myself of what the hell's going on in that story, only took 3 hours or so, and I won't be rewriting any of that going forward. Being as that was NaNoWriMo 2004, MANY things have changed in Raykin since then, but I'll sum those things up when the next chapter gets posted. Going from 5000-word chapters back down to the NaNo version of 1667 will be odd but here goes!

Happy birthday, girls. Here's to many more <3

So my Tumblr has a use now if anyone wants to follow it :D Basically I'm throwing up all the reference photos I've been accumulating of Tsyllaes. I'll slowly add all the ones I've got currently then just add them as I find them after that. I probably won't put my own sketches and things there, already got <lj user="h-bee") for that.

So I've been sitting on this dialogue bunny for four and a half years, possibly five but that's just when I first wrote it down.

I've just written it in context.

Momentous occasion you guys! Man, if I could be arsed, I'd get myself a Bailey's. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.

I am no longer broken! Hurray! I stopped being broken roughly Tuesday/Wednesday-ish I guess. Fine for work all last week, just still a bit dented, but I'm pretty much good now =3 Definitely good for Sydney next weekend, wheeeee :D

Show day was yesterday, last day of the Show, aww =( I love the Show. I went with my uni friend Alex, since Anna P is currently in Sydney herself, and much fun was had :D The first Friday would have been far more awesome weather-wise, but such is the risk you take going to the Show in September. Anyway, I had an umbrella and it wasn't bitterly cold, so all good.

I spent most money in the Taste SA tent cos it's freaking awesome. I got some honey, two pots flavoured with ginger and a third with cinnamon, which is REALLY nice melted into warm milk X9 Also got a stick of kangaroo metwurst which will be turned into many an awesome sandwich with cream cheese, oh yes. We sampled many a metwurst and scoffed the bumburner for really not burning your bum at all. The XXX Burner, now that was spicy. Mmm, metwurst. I was also tempted by nummy olive oil but managed not to.

Looked at various animals, including very relaxed cats, bunnies that look like balls of fluff with faces, fluffy alpacas and goats that looked like they'd be more at home on some rocky outcrop rather than in a pen, and~ probably some others I'm missing.

I also had a look at the arts before Alex turned up later. I may try entering that some time. The digital art category, which must be new cos I don't remember it from previous years, was largely crap. All the real media was gorgeous, especially the pastels. SO PRETTY. The photography... god so many bad and random Photoshop filters, why? D: There were, like, three people who knew what they were doing. See if I can be arsed throwing something at them next year for digi arts, might be fun =3

We did two rides cos it was cold and wet and this was during a period of no rain. Techno jump is always my favourite, basically a whole lot of bouncing around in a circle and it's awesome fun X3 No making you sick or turning you upside down or HOLY SHIT I'M GOING TO DIE moments, it's just fun :D

Showbags, just the TimTams bag (it has a mug!) and the traditional Bertie Beetle.

We even got to see the fireworks this time :DD I swear every time I've been in my adult life, it's either been too windy or pissing with rain for the fireworks to happen, so that was exciting. AND we got to watch from the special VIP members area, thanks to the free tickets from Cassie's parents X3 It was pretty awesome. Front and centre on the main arena, very nice X)

I love the Show~ <3 Everyone come to Adelaide in September so I can take you. Then, or in February for the Fringe Festival. Either or :D

ALSO. Entirely unrelated, but I've finally finished going through all my stories for the Big Book of Stuff. Well, all except Silent Harmony itself, but that's about 350 freaking pages and I can't be arsed cos I do actually know all that stuff. Anyway, in going through all those, I've rediscovered all these unfinished fics I want to finish )

Yrae stones are boring. No, really, they are. Magic stones have been done to death and I'm bored stiff of them. Magic stone in bangle that MAGICALLY can't come off their wrists? Come on. So clearly invented by a seventeen-year-old. The more I think about the damn stones, the more I want something different. This has been a serious niggle for the last, what five years? Concept of them is fine, magic artefact from a bird that involves something to do with links, fits smoothly, but the actual form it takes, sick to bloody death of it.

Over the last couple of months I've been pondering over something else that I know I've never come across in fantasy, possibly been done but not nearly so much as magic bloody jewellery.

Basically, metal feather, still from the yrae's tail, still shimmery blue, but not a sodding gemstone. For the twins, I'm thinking embed it under the skin on the back of their wrists, something like this so it can still be seen, but magic or not, that thing isn't leaving them without some serious pain involved. I know there is potentially going to be squick here, but that's exactly why I like it. It's not typical and it's not beautiful, but it's magic and it's there and it's not going anywhere for a long~ while.

I'd love to put them on the back of their hands, but I'd need to do more research to see if you could actually wield a sword with the skill Nimay does. I'd love if she could, cos you know me and hands X)

Yan's I'm less concrete on. When he was king, clearly the thing would've been part of his crown. Nowadays, I'm still leaning towards the ring he's got now, just with a feather stuck to it instead of a jewel. Despite him not being able to feel pain (loldead) he wouldn't stick it under his skin because, unlike the girls, his wings are a permanent fixture when he's got the thing with him. Sometimes, he likes to go incognito, which is kinda hard when you look like that.

Sooooo yeah. Pretty much solid! I'll poke around a little more first, figure out the practicalities of it and whether back-of-hand would work, maybe figure out something more spiffy for Yan than a ring, and then~ pictures!

Yay sketches! )

Feel free to red-line any of these, I encourage it! Now I'm going to go see if it's as nice outside as it looks and if so, read :D Otherwise, start on the background for Emerald. Yay. Jungle. Why do I do this to myself D:

So, Small World Tsyllaes is more than six years old now. The four of them have been hanging above my bed well past their use-by date, so it's well time to redo them. Since this next lot will probably also hang around for years before I redo them again, I want them to look AWESOME, so here, have a wip!

red lines highly appreciated )

the questions )

28. Have you ever written a character with physical or mental disabilities? Describe them, and if there’s nothing major to speak of, tell us a few smaller ones.

Nimay and Yamin are mute! Mostly. Laugh and cry with voice, but no talking. This is a magic-related thing that manifests as a physical disability, but it still counts. It'd be weird writing them with voice now. I've gotten so used to writing their mannerisms and the way they get their point across with gestures and facial expressions that words would just feel like cheating. Very, very occasionally it can frustrate me, but the easy solution to that is to have it frustrate them, too.

Aside from them, we have Emon and Rumal, who are each missing a finger, but they both pretty much shrug that off as an occupational hazard. Yan has a living impairment! Cos he's dead. Does that count? I mean, it's not exactly a commonly found disability XD

Flannel Flower is completely batshit, but she was less so through Bouquet. She bloody will be in SH, though. Dungeoned for a coupla decades, no hope of escape, resigned herself to living a crap life and dying dishonourably only to go through life all again to do it right. I've been looking forward to her SH appearance for YEARS.

And that's the lot of 'em. Really only the twins count, I think.
annarti: (there is a hole inside my heart)
the questions )

27. Along similar lines, do appearances play a big role in your stories? Tell us about them, or if not, how you go about designing your characters.

If I plan on drawing them at any point, yes, appearance is very important. I have to rein myself in when introducing a new character or dressing someone in a specific uniform/regalia so I don't stop the flow of narrative XD; Hook noses, crows' feet, big ears, knobbly chins and Adam's apples (obviously for the guys only), crooked grins, all SO much fun to draw. Male characters are so much fun to design, especially since I'm generally not one for having pretty-boy characters. The only typically sexy ones are Nol and Kaen. Rumal used to be in his youth, and still has a bit of that left, but he's got the receding hairline and weathered face going now. He's pushing 40, and Raykinians age faster than those who aren't battered by the sun, wind and sand every day of their lives.

I like my characters to have character, basically. Manly mens are much more awesome X3 The girls change to fit their purpose more, I think. Yamin and Nimay have the sharp features of the desert people so that makes them look a little impish, Shizaaqa has her thin, pointed eyebrows and looks ten years younger than she is because she's a pampered empress, Lynnlita has nothing to do with her time but apply make-up look pretty, Flannel Flower looks a bit mannish because she sometimes plays one as a disguise. They're fun to play with body shapes, too, since just about every male character I have is in the Own or the Kazinian army so they all have much the same body type. Girls though, I have tiny ones, tall ones, muscled ones, weedy little things, stylish sexy girls, flat chested girls, and~ so on. Just the one little old lady though, sadly, who I totally forgot to count in my 'oldest characters' question, oops. Auin, head healer of the palace healing house before 'min. No idea how old she was, but she was older than Mithé, certainly.

ALSO. Hands. I love hands a lot. I could go into just about as much detail about a character's hands as I could about their face. Nol's and Nimay's are both loltastic, Nimay's more so being a swordie. Broken fingers healed a bit on the bent side, rough skin with archer's and swordie's calluses respectively, chewn fingernails down to the quick because they get in the way. Nimay's are kinda bony, too, as are Yamin's~ and she chews her nails, too. Thiras, who you've not really met but is a Tsaythi who'll come into things later, has long~ spindly fingers that look like spiders when she's twisting them in the air. Hands play a big role in character design, even though I can never get that all into drawing them, but I can put it in writing when the opportunity arises =3

ALL THAT SAID. If I don't plan on drawing them, the characters get next to nothing. They have their race, maybe a height or a hairstyle, and that's about it.
annarti: (free as a bird. wild as the wind)
the questions )

26. Let’s talk art! Do you draw your characters? Do others draw them? Pick one of your OCs and post your favourite picture of him!

I draw my characters lots :D Picking one at random, here have the twins, that's my favourite one of them.

I like getting arts :D I don't get a hell of a lot, but my Sallie treats me well <3 And Ku~ who does the most awesome chibis ever. When I have income again I'll buy more commissions of my charries, too, cos commissions are sexy X9

That's a very short answer. I talk enough about my arts when I post them >>
annarti: (free as a bird. wild as the wind)
the questions )

25. Do any of your characters have pets? Tell us about them.

The Own have their horses :D Which are all actually individual and have personalities and such, but I won't go into them because there are fifteen of the damn things and I've already let the boys ramble about their steeds here.

Lynnlita has a leopard cub called Dapple. It's always a cub. They release it into the wild and replace it with another cub when it gets too old, cos that's Llayad for you.

Kurae has a cat, and possibly some of the other boys do, too, but I forget. Their pets have never actually come up in anything.

There was a sort of palace cat back in the day, a ginger one that died when Nol was about 8 or 9 I think. It wasn't so much Nol's and Mithé's pet as just the resident cat. Fed scraps from the kitchen, patted by any staff member it rubbed up against, and just sort of wandered where it wanted to go. It never liked Nol, tho, and Mithé's not really a cat person, so they never replaced it once it carked it. Probably Alurié (Nol's mum) got it.

The Kazinian imperial palace has TIGERS. But they're defence rather than pets. In a 'RELEASE THE TIGERS' kind of way.

Flannel Flower had a black... gelding? I think? Possibly a stallion. Anyway. When she was playing Isai the Wasp, black horsie called Tazin, named after the unicorn belonging to Sallie's War X3 Only FF didn't know that, clearly.

Erm... that's possibly all of them. None of them are really cuddle-up-on-your-lap pets. OH. And Tsyllaes doesn't have canines, 'cept the African wild dogs in Llayad. It's my world and if I say they don't have smelly yappy woofy slobbery dogs, they don't >(
annarti: (free as a bird. wild as the wind)
the questions )

24. How willing are you to kill your characters if the plot so demands it? What’s the most interesting way you’ve killed someone?

'Willing' is probably not the right word. I'll kill them if someone has to die, but I won't bloody like it. Most often, they die off-screen so I don't have to actually write it. Writing deaths, especially of my favourite characters, is hard and I don't like doing it. I have killed a lot of them off, though. Body count of named characters in Rust was~ seven. Or six if you don't count Yan, but he's so totally dead, people. He required killing to get where he is now, so he counts. Tarnish is currently sitting at two, with at least another three to come.

I don't really kill them in interesting ways, though. Lessee... Stabbed in the eye with a sword, throat sliced, throat sliced, shot, old age/heatwave, shot, shot, assassinated, shot/poisoned, assassinated, shot and shot. I like shooting people, apparently. But yeah, all pretty standard stuff for this story.
annarti: (free as a bird. wild as the wind)
the questions )

23. How long does it usually take you to complete an entire story—from planning to writing to posting (if you post your work)?

There's no 'usually' about it. There are sooooo many variables that I really can't put my finger on it. Rust (roughly 150k) effectively took six years, from its conception in early 2003 through to the current version that I posted the final chapter of early last year. Technically it's still not finished--it definitely needs another rewrite, not to mention the other three books of the story. Those ones are going more quickly, though, since there's less world building involved. Planning for Tarnish took about two months, rather than the four-ish years that Rust had before its current incarnation.

And then there's the other end of the scale, where Bouquet (50k) had two days of planning and thirty of writing. Sometimes I get on a roll like that, but not often. I have a lot of works in progress that I WANT to finish but get distracted by shiny things--other WIPs, drawing, short stories, or most commonly Silent Harmony.

Shorts like Dragon Boy (10k) can take anywhere from a week to a year, depending on inspiration and muses and shiny things. I never plan the things, they just happen.
annarti: (free as a bird. wild as the wind)
Arg I forgot about this entirely yesterday. Blame the footy. The footy was awesome and totally worth skipping this for.

the questions )

22. Tell us about one scene between your characters that you’ve never written or told anyone about before! Serious or not.

As soon as I think of a relatively big idea, I either tell Sallie about it, draw it, write it up or keep it secret because it's a spoiler. As such, if I told you, I'd have to kill you <3

I have always wanted to write a fight between Rumal, Raykin's best swordsman, and Kaen, their best blade archer and hence best fighter with daggers. Problem there, of course, is that I have NO idea who would actually win. I'd be barracking for Rumal, though.

Way back on the first draft of SH, Yan was going to come up against some Kazinian sorcerers who tried to kill him with their magic, which at the time involved taking hold of the victim's heart and stopping it. 'Lol,' says Yan, 'It's already stopped, bitches,' and kills them all. Of course, Kazin doesn't even do magic anymore, so that idea's null and void now.

That's all I've got =/ Screw this, spoiler book, that'll have minific ideas in it that I haven't written. If they had more detail to them than what I've got here, they'd have been written already, so this is all you're getting XD
  • Damsel Inconvenienced, rather than damsel in distress. Something about Lynnlita having an Issue that she wants Nol to solve.
  • Lynnlita dealing with Raykin's public baths. No, they wouldn't make special concessions for her and bring a personal bath up to her third-floor room at the palace. If she asked Mithé really nicely, he might close the bath house for her maybe.
  • Someone vandalising the skull-barrier on the Kazin/Raykin border.
  • Army training blind-folded to train the ears~
  • Yamin dying her hair black, and failing because whatever she used sorta turns everything else black, too.
  • Taking the horses for a swim in the Ra-Lin on a hot day.
  • From way back in history: at some point, the Own must've all been killed. Mission, assassins, whatever. And then, war. Hooray!
  • The Own talking around the campfire, asking Nimay what her magic can do.
  • Learning to fly~
  • Discussing magic/flying etc with Mithé, Rau, Laeron etc.
  • Gylepi's kids meeting Nimay. Lania, his daughter, wants to be a swordie because of 'May X3
  • Boys discussing Haenel's mindset. He's a bit scary =(
  • Yan possibly the one who suggested to Mithé that he make Nimay his assassin. Maybe. I'm not quite sure where I was going with that one.
  • Gylepi comes home from a mission with presents for his kiddies. Lania is not happy because her two favourite dollies, who are in love, will be jealous of this new dolly and have a lovers' tiff. Gylepi vows to never buy her another dolly ever again.

Also, Thiras' entire life. Oh yeah, she's got one. I can tell you she was a pirate in her past and she now lives on the mainland, and that's it.
annarti: (*facePALM*)
Arg I forgot about this entirely yesterday. Blame the footy. The footy was awesome and totally worth skipping this for.

the questions )

21. Do any of your characters have children? How well do you write them?

About~ five of the Own riders have kids, I think? *checks* Four: Gylepi (son and daughter, duh), Ulkar (twin boys), Inel (...I forget and I can't be bothered getting the book out again) and Melraan (daughter). Of them, I've written Lania, Gylepi's daughter, once for a short fic of about 500 words and that's it. No fault of the kids, I just don't do a lot with the private lives of the Own riders-who-aren't-Nimay-or-Nol.

...Mithé has a child? :D;;; I've written a bit of young Nolryn and the twins before Shit Went Down, that counts, I guess. Writing mini twins is SO much fun. They were bloody adorable.

Yan had three children, but I've never written them as kids. Only ever written them once, and that was more middle-aged, when they were bringing Yan back.

Shizaaqa has four kids, but really only Assili can still be called a child. However, do that in her presence and you'll very swiftly learn that this 12-year-old is no child. I don't think Assili really counts. She's not childlike in the slightest :x Frankly, Her eldest brother, Sahid, is far more of a child than she is, and he's 20, but then if I include Sahid I'd have to extend that to about~ half the Own, too.

I don't have enough real-life contact with small children to feel as confident writing them, so I always feel like I'm going to screw them up, make them seem younger or older than they're supposed to be. Adult characters as children (such as mini-Nol) is fine, because I know exactly who they're going to grow up to be. Much easier to see their past that way.

20. What are your favourite character interactions to write?

Speaking generally, groups of friends or parent/child relationship, particularly father/daughter. I love writing casual relationships, just people going about their day and having fun with each other. Tense situations are trickier to work out the dialogue, but when they're relaxed and happy, everything flows :D

More specifically, Nol and Yamin. They almost have this older-brother younger-sister thing going, only 'min often plays older-sister, too X3 They're cute~ and I love writing them. Also I ship them. Shh, don't tell them that.

Also, and I'm sure I've mentioned them before in this meme, the archers. They are dorks~ and the epitome of the whole casual group friendship I love writing about.

19. Favourite minor that decided to shove himself into the spotlight and why!

Has to be Flannel Flower. She was just a random prisoner to fill a spot in a Genesis fic, but she was far too interesting to just leave there. So for NaNoWriMo 2006 she got a story, Bouquet, first (and so far only) NaNo I've won. My GOD she was fun to write. Slightly insane, seriously flawed and partially realising it, but not enough to warrant actually changing her ways, and then~ completely batshit :D SHE'S FUN. And so~ I couldn't just leave her there, so she's forced her way into Silent Harmony now. Taken three years to get her a genuine place there, but there she is. She's too much fun to leave out X3
