Note to self: Don't go read on the balcony after about 7:00 in the evening. Mozzies attack. I have a grand total of~ *counts* 12 mozzie bites. Less than I thought, actually. Yay!

Still, don't read on the balcony after 7. Bloody mozzies.

I'm back~ and I have all four books--score! As well as a new and pritti library card. It was supposed to be $1 to replace the old one I'd lost, but~ because I handed over a $5 note and they didn't have change, it was essentially free. Think I shall give them a buck when I return the books tho, cos I'm a phreak like that.

I haven't done enough reading these holidays. Read two books, both of which I read in about 4 days total. So now I've got four~ that I'm going to finish before uni starts/I hafta return them, yupyup.

*points out window* This is what summer's s'posed to be like. Sunny, bright blue sky that makes you glad you don't live in Mexico City, Tokyo or New York, and a smidge under 30 degrees. This is the life X3

Word is pissing with me. Trying to save 'feet.doc' but it's telling me "The disk is full or too many files are open". Before I would've said fair enough: I had another large word document open (hands.doc - about 3 pages so far full of lots of little hand pictures. I lost my other one ><) as well as an unsaved Photoshop file with 30-odd layers filled with various CLAMP people showing off their hands and feet.

So, closed them both down, and Photoshop proceeded to get pissy with me, telling me I should be saving from the direct client or something. Kept telling it I wasn't trying to save, just close the damn thing, but it was very insistent about saving from the direct client. Ended up ctrlaltdeleting it so I could save feet.doc, but it's still stuffed.

Now, a few months ago the pooter itself was getting pissy about lack of space, while I was colouring my final Art prac for the year and creating bloody massive files, so I figured maybe that's what Word was getting at--the pooter's finally filled itself up. But no, still nearly 5 gigs left.

This document has a grand total of 7 pictures on it. Why the frig won't it save~~~? My hands file was saving fine~ but not feet.

Screw it, I can find those 4 unsaved feet again tomorrow. Bed now.

Right, that's it, I'm going to the library tomorrow. This is my goal for the day. Think the main reason is that I've been waiting for a nice day to walk down there, but it just hasn't come. However, tomorrow is going to be 29 *salivates* X)~

So yeah, I have four books I need to borrow and read, preferably before uni starts, those being TTT (can't read our copy cos Mum is), the final book in the Ramses series by Christian Jacq (I finished the fourth one about this time last year), the one Cassie's recommended and that I've momentarily forgotten the name of, but I have it written down so all is good, and~ the final book in the Llandor trilogy, cos I've just finished the second one last night.

Rediscovered those books during my massive cleanup of my room. I got them from the school library when they were chucking out all these old and relatively scrappy books, so a friend and I got a few of them. Unfortunately didn't have the full series of that.

To begin with, I wasn't really sure I liked it. 'Tis about three final year Pommy students who end up in this fantasy land of Llandor, and of course the Big Nasty Dude wants to find them.

Anyway, yus, the three main characters, as well as the supporting ones, just aren't particularly strong. I mean, you can see the author's trying to make you sympathise with them, but I just... can't. Roderick was a fat, geeky, generally hated boy at school until they ended up in Llandor, at which point he had to walk a lot~ and so is now not so fat, and all the Llandorians (Oo) luv him. Craig is a bastid and picked on Craig at school, and Carrie was his friend but has basically switched sides. But they're just not strong characters.

And then there's Janine, aka Mary Sue. She's a blond, blue-eyed half-elf half-human girl. Need I go further? No, dun think so.

However~ about halfway through the first book Kadmon rocked up, and he's definitely the saving grace, and I think the soul reason for me wanting to borrow the last book. You just don't know if he's evil or not, and I love characters with a bit of evil in them. Plus he can make bloo fire, which is always cool, and he's sarcastic X3 Go Kadmon.

It's hard to tell whether it's meant for people my age or people younger. I mean, people die (or at least appear to die) relatively often, and Craig swears an iccle bit, but the way it's been written... I just feel like I could've done it better. The number of conversations they've had where everyone's sentence ends in "said Thingy (___ly)" is getting on my nerves, and oh Gawd~ every two pages there is a sentence beginning with 'and'. One of the first things you learn about writing, whether it's creatively or otherwise, is not to use 'and' at the beginning of a sentence. First time I saw it I thought it was a bit odd, but now it's just "stop using that word~ woman! Either ditch it or ditch the full stop! Xx;;;"

However, Kadmon ownz. Read if for nothing but Kadmon, 'shwat I'm doing X3
