Fuh~ my feet hurt Xx Haven't had a Friday that busy in a while. Table for 12, one for five, one for four, about... 5 couples, and God knows how many takeaways. Damnit, stop hunting in packs! >< You can go through fifteen, 20 minutes when nobody calls, then suddenly, BOOM! FIVE people ring about two seconds apart, then the phone's dead again for another 10 minutes. End up just swearing at the damn phone by the third customer.

Also? I LOVE sifting through every fridge to find that the only bottle of the wine you're looking for is half-empty, sepecially when it's not one that we sell by the glass. That's just pissy as. Opening the fridge and having the bottle you want just standing there in the middle of the front row? Gives you such a ridiculously good feeling, because it NEVER HAPPENS.

In other news~~ I'm buying my tickets to Pommyland tomorrow! XDDDDD I have plenty of points to get to Bangkok on Singapore Airlines, then it'll cost either a smidge over or a smidge under a grand to get from there to Manchester on Emirates, depending on what the Thai Baht's doing tomorrow. When we checked yesterday it was $1064, then today, same amount of Baht, and it was $986, so that's nearly a hundred bucks there.

I'll spaz later when they're actually bought. We would've done it today, but the dollars I transferred to my Visa card last night haven't come through yet, so~ I've currently got about $34 there, which isn't going to get me squat.

Right, now if Mum's gone to bed (which she should've done--she's not one to stay up past 10, normally. Was shocked when I got home at quarter to 11 and she was still up Oo) then~ I can watch a movie. Cos like hell I can be stuffed actually doing anything right now. The whole 'doing stuff' thing doesn't work when your feet cane, even if it doesn't actually involve using your feet. Very much in vegging mode right now X)

Stuff is going right in the world of the 'narti. Woo!

Brother unit is going to get one helluva grilling when I get home. I left home this morning, got on the freeway, only to realise that the petrol tank was showing empty (to remind you all, the Magna's petrol tank can very well be empty when it still says a quarter full, so to be actually showing empty is more than disconcerting) and~ the odometer was showing 369km, and I know for a fact that our car can't quite hit 400km on a single tank. In short, I was lucky to get off the freeway and back to the petrol station, let alone get down to uni on what was left.

He knows~ I've got uni on Friday morning; he should've filled up yesterday when he was coming home from uni himself. I mean, surely he'd have been worried about the level of fuel and number of Ks. I was bloody terrified, congratulating the poor creature every hundred metres and patting it on the boot when I got to the service station.

Finally ended up getting back on the freeway at 10 to 9 (there was a queue at the petrol station. I live in a very small town in the Adelaide Hills. This is pretty much unheard of), and somehow managed to get into my Advanced News Writing lecture by quarter past, so essentially only 5 minutes late. Wasn't speeding or anything, just managed all the green lights and no trucks to get stuck behind.

And~ because of the Clipsal 500 (big car race thingie in Adelaide. Introduced to replace the Grand Prix when Melbourne stole it, basically), our guest speaker was also late and came in about 5 minutes after me, so that was all good. That was my biggest worry, cos once you've missed the guest speaker, you're stuffed for the assignment. Due date time is also extended to 2pm because of the Clipsal 500 and crappy traffic conditions relating to it. Gotta love living in the Hills. Even Portrush Road was relatively clear this morning Oo I laughed at all the poor buggers on Glen Osmond Road tho X);; I hate that road. Gotta be about the only time I've been happy for going to uni at Magill instead of in the city.

Also~ the guest speaker was really interesting. He's doing exactly what I want to do! He's an author-slash-journo, more specifically feature writing, he's travelled here there and everywhere (born in Phillippeans, lived in New York and Paris, now moved to Adelaide for the next three years, then probably back to New York again, he doesn't know), and~ he speaks French. Pity he's ten years older than me and already has a girlfriend =P

I think I like the idea of feature writing. If travel writing or cricket writing doesn't happen for whatever reason, I think I could get to like feature writing. The whole news reporting thing doesn't appeal to me, but features I think I could do. You're allowed to let your creative juices flow more X)

I think I'll go home to write this. I was worried about getting distracted by the cricket, but~ it's drizzling in Wellington, and they reckon it will be for the next two days or so, so odds of a ball being bowled today are slim to nil. Home sounds good ^^

Yay~ grilling the brother .-.;;
