Randomly? I find it amusing that it was only Aussies who replied to this XD;; Did anyone off Aussie shores even read the thing? ^^;;

Anyway! Layouts and stuff *wanders off*

I~ need to redo my userinfo. That can be my project for tomorrow; do a complete overhall of tpyo, rewrite userinfo, layouts, the works. Maybe even ditch all these icons from about this time last year XD;;

Work tonight was... odd. Started off COMPLETELY dead. It was obviously dead last night too--tables were all set, no glasses needed drying, beer and soft drink was all fully stocked... the
crockery and cutlery had even been dried! This is virtually unheard of! I was seriously clutching at straws for the first half-hour I was there, trying to find stuff to do... Took the single, solitary beer bottle out to the recycling crate thing, swept outside even there were a sum total of maybe ten leaves and an acorn (in the middle of autumn, no less Oo), then I got really bored and started neatening up the table settings if the chopsticks weren't quite parallel to the knife and fork.

...Shut up. I was trying vainly to look busy/useful.

I start at 4:45, and by 5:30 I just gave up on trying to make myself look useful and sat on the bench staring at the phone and hoping someone would make a really big takeaway order. They didn't. Bastids.

Even Billy couldn't find anything for me to do. He came out at one point when I was standing by the fire to warm up a bit, and said, "Can you sweep outside, maybe? =D"
"Done it."
"Really?"
"Yep."
"*looks* Ah, okay *wanders back to the kitchen*"

Fifteen minutes later the crate of prawn crackers came out XD;; And I was genuinely happy! I hate packing prawn crackers! I don't know what it is about the job, it's just my most hated in the whole restaurant, bar vacuuming. But I was just so bored that I did them because it meant I had something to do~~

So for two hours, at least, I was doing my absolute best to do something and failing miserably. Two tables for two walked in, nothing spectacular. Only wanted Coke or red for drinks, so no chance of spending fifteen minutes trying to find the right bottle of white.

Then, at 8:00, BOOM. I mean seriously, BOOM. The restaurant's FULL save two tables for two. Three (!!!) tables for four, one for three and four couples. And only one waitress ^^;;

Also? Got a sum total of about $26 in tips, which would make me absolutely ecstatic--that's more than two hours-worth of pay!--only Billy was watching me like a bloody hawk ALL NIGHT, especially when I was taking money, and therefore, tips. So~ I had to put them all in the damn tip tin >< I managed to somehow sneak $11, but that's still $15 I missed out on, damnit! I just kept feeling like telling him, "There are EIGHT TABLES here, and MANY MORE TAKEAWAYS. Go~ to the bloody kitchen~~ where you're needed~~ ><#"

I hate when he does that! Just comes out into the dining room/bar and does nothing but stare at you like he's testing you then gets annoyed when you can't remember the price of a large special fried rice because you've got his eyes just boring~~ into you >< I've been working there almost a year now, I know my job, let me bloody do it >< If you're going to be in the dining room, at least help--grab a bottle of wine and pour it or something, take table 8's order, instead of telling me to do something when I'm either a) already doing it or b) plainly occupied with something else, like talking on the phone or pouring drinks.

I know he does it because it's his restaurant and he likes to feel like he's in charge, but just... ARG >< Seriously gets on my nerves sometimes. Especially when it jips me out of %14 in tips ¬¬#
