Just nicked out to watch the start of the cricket, not actually starting til 11, so Dad had this new weather thing on CNBC. 'Weather across Australia'

Which included Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. That was it. Never mind that Adelaide is a good 800km from Melbourne, and Perth's another 2000 on top of that, or that there are at least another four centres he should really mention in a 'weather across Australia' segment. Also, he started off by confusing Indochina with Indonesia.

ALSO.

AMERICA. PLEASE. MELBOURNE IS PRONOUNCED 'MEL-BN'. IF YOU MUST SAY THE R, SAY 'MEL-BURN'. NOT BLOODY 'MEL-BORRRN'.

He did say Brisbane right tho, I'll give him that. But omfg. I'm Adelaidean and it gets to me. We're, like, mortal enemies. Like France and England only without the centuries-long history of killing each other.

Anyway, cricket beckons.

It's raining at the cricket =( They just showed pics of various people around the ground, huddling under umbrellas, hiding inside emergency ponchos like at the footy or sharing a flag to keep the rain off and generally looking annoyed and miserable... then they showed a group of Aussies, who were in the pool, in shorts and tshirts, playing volleyball with a blow-up kangaroo XDD I love that. That's gold, that is XDD

Yes, they have a pool at the cricket ground. It's the Caribbean, what do you expect? X3
