Fri, Feb. 29th, 2008 06:11 pmAnd~ another. That bloke? My favourite cricketer EVER. Above McGrath and Gilly, even. I think the current match on at the Adelaide Oval is his last ever for the Redbacks, so I'm definitely going to have to go for a day, either tomorrow or Monday. Possibly both. OMG DIZZY~~ *WAILS*
I totally wasn't expecting this; he's only 32, for God's sake .-. Still, I can understand him wanting to leave the Redbacks. It must be so incredibly frustrating being on the losing side so often after having played for Australia for so long. I'm still adamant that he should have been playing for Australia for the last two years as well; he's bowling just as well, still only 32, still bloody brilliant... Sob :<
WHY DO THEY KEEP DOING THIS? T_T To recap, in the last twelve months, these are the players who've retired:
From the Aussie side:
Glenn McGrath (top left of my icon)
Shane Warne
Justin Langer
Adam Gilchrist
Brad Hogg
From the Redbacks:
Darren Lehmann
Jason Gillespie (bottom left of the icon)
Matthew Elliot
(Shaun Tait. He'll be back but not for quite a while, I imagine)
Also Michael Kasprowicz (top right of the icon; Brett Lee's the only one left now) from the Queensland Bulls, another of my favouritest fast bowlers. That's TEN PLAYERS. You could almost make an entire team out of the retirees, and they'd still pwn any side you pitted them against.
ALSO. Mark Riccuito, Crows skipper, retired end of last year. AND Scott Welsh has gone to play for the Bulldogs, which is WORSE than retiring cos now he's against us ._.
Yeah, sport sucks when all your favourite players are buggering off T______T
