Sat, Jun. 28th, 2008 05:53 pmContinuing on after duck for dinner on Monday, part two~ of Colin's 21st was fancy restaurant time X)~~ Specifically Alphütte, a Swiss-based restaurant in the city. Let not their cheap-arse website fool you, cos it was omg SO GOOD <3 I had the shellfish ragout for entrée which had crayfish in it *¬* And the most buttery delicious piece of salmon evar~ X)~~ They have a picci of that one on the website, at the bottom of the entrées menu. Man, that place knows how to do sauces. I love a restaurant that doesn't skimp on the sauces. Rich and creamy and aksdjghas want more.
For mains~ I had the trio of medallions--veal, beef and pork with three different sauces which were absolutely decadent and the meat was so tender~ and melty and charcoaled X)~~~ Damn that was good~ stuff.
Dessert~ I had the chocolate mousse and a hot chocolate, cos the Swiss know chocolate, yasee. They've got the mousse on the dessert menu there, too, the one in the little chocolate box. So smoooooooth and rich and delicious~ X)~~ Top choice of restaurant from the brother there, oh yes indeedy X)~~ Mum and Dad started talking about dégustations at the Grange (basically, a 10-ish course meal of very small, very well-prepared dishes) and Colin and I looked at each other thinking hee, it's my birthday coming up soon >) ... It'll never happen. Dégustation costs about $200 per person :D
In other, completely unrelated news, I hate the afl split round. There's no footy this weekend~ =(
