My family has decided upon the difference between a creek and a stream, and why it seems that Australia has creeks while England has streams. Streams, you see, have water in them all the time. Creeks, on the other hand, are bone dry strips of rocks with maybe a clump of spinifex growing in the middle of them, that sort of give the impression that water once flowed there, maybe 6 months ago when it last rained.

I reckon this definition makes sense :D
