2007 Meme
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?

I KISSED A BOY.

2. Did you keep your New Years resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
1) add another 1000 words onto SH ~ ...okay so that one was ambitious. It's currently standing at about 120k, and was at 50k this time last year, so 70k in a year. Not bad, but not what I was hoping for. Eh.
2) draw for an hour. Tablet or pencil, sketches or polished piece, whatever works ~ I drew SWEET BUGGER-ALL this year. There's, like, 20 sketches and 2 finishes pieces for the whole year. I suck.
3) earn 2k in GW. I want to get Nol this, and at the rate of 2k a day I can do that by next April 8D;; ~ That one I did! =D

For 2009:
1) Finish SH: Rust, and get a start on Tarnish. I'd actually like that done by the end of summer.
2) Learn Maya, Illustrator, Flash and Painter.
3) In that vein, draw something every day damnit.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nup.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope.

5. What countries did you visit?
...I went to Melbourne?

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A laptop!

7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory and why?
Two in particular: August 2. I SHOOK SIMON GOODWIN'S HAND AND ALSO BRETT BURTON AND I GOT PHOTOS WITH THEM AND OMFG THE AWESOME. THE AWESOME, PEOPLE.
August 8. First date =0 And first kiss! =0
And also the first half of March, all SIXTEEN DAYS IN A ROW that were above 36 degrees. That sucked a whoooole lot.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Erm... getting a boyfriend I guess? Even tho that's over now, but it still happened =3

9. What was your biggest failure?
This has been a good year for me. Couldn't really pick a failure.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Shithouse fluey thing I caught on the plane to Melbourne, which hung around making me feel dead for a week, and just as I was getting better it turned into an infection that gave me a 39-degree fever and kept me in bed for another week. IT SUCKED.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My computer~ <3 <3 <3 It's awesome.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My cousin Carolyn! Who's gotten engaged =DDD

12.1 Who kept you sane the most?
Sallie and Cassie, as ever <3

12.2 Who made you laugh the most?
Anna P XD

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
The Australian cricket team. No rly. IT'S DEPRESSING AS ALL HELL, YOU GUYS. Also, two people in particular disappointed me a few times more than was really necessary ._. OH OH AND ALSO. I FOUND OUT THAT TWO OF MY COUSINS SMOKE. WHAT THE FUCK? I thought they were smart, too DDDD:

14. Where did most of your money go?
Bruce the Commodore, as always. Tie for second with the new computer~ and also Manifest in Melbourne. But Bruce the clear winner. Stupid petrol prices.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
MANIFEST. I got to hug my Cassie again~ *^^* And then I as sick the entire weekend. CURSE YOU, TIGER AIR.

16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
...I kissed a girl by Katie Perry. I HATE IT but it's one of those irritating as crap songs that get stuck in your head. Also, I'll always change that to 'boy' because I DID that last year, omg.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
Happier. I have the same material stuff, the same awesome friends (minus one, but she was slipping by this time last year anyway) BUT I have two jobs and therefore INCOME and A BANK BALANCE. I can work towards financing a laptop or a trip to Sydney instead of a cup of coffee or a new book.

ii. thinner or fatter?
'bout the same.

iii. richer or poorer?
MUCH richer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Drawing, definitely. Two polished pictures really doesn't cut it for the year. Drawing groove, where aaaare yoooou? Kind of wish I'd done more writing, too, but I think it's been a pretty good year in that respect.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Procrastination, but such is life.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
About~ half the family came up here (the other half being overseas, interstate and/or with the other half of their family) and we did the standard nibblies, turkey, pudding and present opening. Then went into town with brother and cousin... not quite sure why.

21. How many one night stands?
None of them.

22. What was your favourite TV program(s)?
Dexter =DD Ooh and Underbelly, that was cool. And Avatar! Which finished in September, sadface =(

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nup. Fallen out with one, but never hate anyone, no.

24. What was the best book you read?
Reread the Belgariad by David Eddings... favourite of those is probably one of the last two. Second last, I think, Castle of Wizardry.

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Gabriella Cilmi. Shuddup her voice is awesome okay :<

26. What did you want and get?
An iPod! And a new computer! And sexy boots! And obsidian armour for Nol! And chocolate! And a stuffed Yoshi! And books! Yeah, this has been a good year. No wonder I had no idea what to ask for for Christmas.

27. What did you want and not get?
Tickets to P!nk next year. Five concerts, she's doing in Adelaide alone, FIVE. And I'm not going to any of them.

28. What was your favourite film of this year?
Wall-E. Pixar rules so much <3 Also, Madagascar II which was even BETTER than the first, and I love it even more because it makes me think of my two Scousers who I saw the first one with <3 <3 <3 <3 <3!

29. What did you do on your birthday?
Worked :< But then Mum made dinner, following the menu of Britain's Best Dish that we'd been watching over the previous few months, and we came to the conclusion that her Tom Yum soup totally trumps the entree they came up with >3 Following night was Hahndorf Inn which is ALWAYS awesome X9

30. What one thing would have made your year more satisfying?
Couple of evenly-weighted things, I think. Those two people being less... thingy. Alex just letting the sex thing drop, that woulda been nice. More work shifts, but at least I've HAD a job all year this time.

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Same as ever: casual, mostly boardies/funky jeans and a nice top/daggy hoodie.

32. What kept you sane?
People! <3 Probably have to mention new computer there, too, since the old one was beginning to drive me insane XD; ... I love that last year I mentioned the cricket here. OH FOR THOSE DAYS AGAIN.

33. Which celebrity did you fancy the most?
I don't tend to fancy celebrities. Cricket's been thoroughly down the gurgler since India, so they're not impressing me at the moment. The Crows showed plenty of moments of brilliance, let's go with them <3

34. What political issue stirred you the most?
Stupid bloody Labor is scrapping the VSU (voluntary student union, as in it'll be compulsory again) this coming semester. That directly affects me by stealing $200 per semester to get me literally piss-all. The only way you'll benefit from it is if you have kids in daycare at uni. SUCH a Labor thing to do, making everyone else pay for one group's issues. Makes even LESS sense at uni, because as we all know, uni students are pov. This is the kind of thing that made me vote against them in 2007, blah.
Bit below that, not affecting me quite as directly, approval for a desal plant in SA. Crap knows where they're going to put it, because you can't dump all the super salty water into Gulf St Vincent, but yeah. We seriously need one.
And finally~ Obama. Cos. Duh.

35. Who did you miss?
Everyone I know online <3 Especially Sallie and Cassie, but I got to see my Cassie so yay~!

36. Who was the best new person you met?
Hayley, one of the girls I work with at the bakery =D We keep meaning to do something outside work time, but it NEVER HAPPENS because whenever I have a free day on the weekend, she's working, and vice versa. Must work it out this summer >O

37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008.
I don't really think there was one. I did act on last year's discovery, tho, so that's something =D

38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Wouldn't have a clue.
