Mon, Jul. 6th, 2015 09:33 pmLighting was installed today! Awesome day 8DD

The bedroom cluster :D One of the shades was cracked when we got it out of the box, so I went back down to Beacon to get it replaced, took my receipts and the box and didn't end up needing them at all. As soon as I took it out of the bubble wrap she went "*GAAAAASP* oh no D: here let me pull another one down for you.' So that was easy. Also the spotlights above the bed for reading. The thingie lines up almost perfectly with the cornice so they're just about invisible unless you're looking right at them. So perf.
AND NO MORE REMOTE CONTROL. I just flip the switch on the wall and tHE LIGHTS TURN ON IT'S AMAZING.

They make a lot of light cos they reflect back off the mirrors, too. It's beautiful.

Spotlights for reading. Clearly I also need some art on the wall there. So all that's left in here are the curtains, due I think in a week(? Maybe two? I've lost count), and patch up/paint where the holes are left in the ceiling from the old light.

Studio! They are so bright compared to the single fluorescent in the old 60s fitting I had before. And so pretty~ <3

And again. I've still gotta do that bit of cornice up in the top left, and get Dad to install a dimmer and the cord holder thingo for the blind. Also patch up the holes left in the ceiling from the old light and paint over them. Whole bunch of fiddly little things in here.

And the living/dining lights! I LOVE THESE SO MUCH. I'll have to take better photos in daylight, when they're lit from the outside and will take better photos. They are perfect. I know exactly what sort of furniture I'll be doing in here because of them.

Attempted closeup that's just making the room underexposed and the lights overexposed. Oh well. You get the idea!
Now to see how much I can sell the old fittings for. 60s are So Hot Right Now, judging by a lot of the furniture I've seen around, so we'll see how that goes =3 Next weekend's project will be all the fiddly fart-arsey stuff to just finish off both rooms.
Unrelated, went for random sushi tonight with Anna P, sogood. Dinner up here may happen next week, we'll see =3
