Fri, Jan. 14th, 2005 12:38 amThat was fun~ *^^* I'd go to another Twenty20 match, hell yus. 'specially if the full Aussie team was playing and not just Australia A. But even so, so much fun *^^* OMG when Shaun Tait (he's from the Hills~ =DD) came on to bowl? The whole oval, all 21 000 of us, was cheering so loudly for him. First ball he got a wicket, and the oval just seriously errupted. That would be such an incredible feeling. I mean, since he's only played for the Redbacks (South Aussie team) and Australia A, the biggest crowd he's prolly played in front of would've been about... 5 or 6 thousand, mebee? But a home crowd of 21 thousand, all yelling for him and cheering him on... that must have been so cool for him *^^*
Bloody Eddie McGuire was there too XP He didn't say much tho, must've retired to the Nine commentary box once the match started, thank Gawd. There was this annoying chick tho. Dunno why the hell she was there. We'd just done a Mexican wave which had finally petered out after going around the ground three or four times, then two overs later she tried to get one going in the members' stand saying 'woo~ the camera's on you =D C'mon Adelaide, show us what you've got on the count of three! =D'
Now, there were a few vital flaws in her thinking. First and foremost, you do NOT start a Mexican wave in the members' stand. Never. It goes against the grain of cricket. The members are notorious for not participating in Mexican waves. A wave can be going really well, but as soon as it hits the members, it dies. The rest of the ground always cheers if it gets through them. I dunno if this is the same anywhere else, but at Adelaide, you just don't even attempt to start a wave over there. The rest of the crowd booed X) Naturally, the wave started off pretty pitifully and had died by the time it got to the end of the stand. It's just... no. If she really wanted to get one going, she should've come over to the scoreboard or the Chappell stands, but particularly the scoreboard. The members' stand? Couldn't've chosen a worse spot.
Second, we'd just done one and couldn't be stuffed doing another. Third, if we want to do a Mexican wave, we'll bloody do one ourselves, thank you very bloody much. We don't need a media person to get a Mexican wave going.
So yeah, apart from the annoying Channel Nine chick, that was hella fun X) Just hearing the whole crowd go up like that for Tait. Eee~ I love Adelaide *^^* He'll end up playing for Australia evntually. Certainly not now, with McGrath, Dizzy and Kaspa still going strong, but give him a coupla years and he'll be right up there *^^*
