Fri, Apr. 29th, 2005 08:36 pmRight, the time has come to think about what the hell I'm going to buy for people for various gift-giving occasions, namely birthdays but also Mother's Day and the added gift giving of going to Pommyland. And~ as always it's damn difficult to think of stuff for everyone. Plan on going into the city next Friday after uni to buy them all (no K8 cos she's one of the people I have to buy something for).
So~ I've got K8 worked out, Colin's been wanting a lava lamp for ages, so I'll see what I can do about that. Problem being that I think they're upwards of $50, which is about double what I'd like to spend. Maybe ask Mum and/or Dad to chip in. It's his 18th so it should be something special anyway. If that doesn't work tho, 'twould be nice to have something to fall back on. Look for more Bond dvds on eBay or something (because according to Mum they're not making them anymore Oo).
Sallie and Uko are about the easiest of everyone. TimTams obviously, which I won't buy for a coupla months yet, Haighs, also not to buy for a few months, uggies and~ some other typically Aussie crap that's not stereotypical. Unless you ask, you're not getting any koalas in cork-akubras wving Aussie flags. Uko showed interest in an actual akubra minus the flag-waving koala, to which I responded "Are you serious? They cost like $50!" Then found out I was underestimating by $30 to $50, so~ no akubras, sorry girls XD;; So yeah, I'll keep looking for stuff *nods*
Mum and Dad? Not got the faintest. Dad's always impossible, and Mum's decided this year that she doesn't need anymore bubble bath, which is really annoying because that's always our plan B if we can't think of anything else.
So to sum up a stupidly wordy entry: Any ideas as to what I can get Mum and Dad for their birthdays and for Mother's Day, and any extra typically-but-not-stereotypically Aussie crap for the Pommies would be very much appreciated X3
