Haaaaappy new year =D Yes I'm the last person on the flist to say it, despite being one of the first to BE in the new year. I was out allllll night =0 I know, shocking X3
Anyway. Ended up buggering the bus and got K8's brother to take us down to the city, then took the tram to Glenelg (the beach) at around 7ish. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL weather the whole time, even through the night I never regretted not taking a jumper or anything. Sea wasa bit cool for swimming tho--the only people in were little kiddies, which tells you something. So we just wandered along the water's edge in bare feet, complaining about rocks that we SWEAR weren't there last time. K8 said she felt like she was in England XD It wasn't that bad tho <3
Dinner was in there somewhere, and onsisted of chips and a ridiculously overpriced burger, but it's the bay on New Year's Eve, so what else do you expect?
Eventually~ Carly and Christian rocked up and we kinda bummed around looking for a cocktail bar that was open and failed miserably. Srsly, they must be SOMEWHERE, but I'll be buggered if I know where. All we found along the beachfront were appartments and the Grand, which was so packed they weren't allowing anymore people in.
So yeah. General bumming around, then fireworks~ off the jetty =D Always lovely ^^ First time I've ever seen the Glenelg fireworks. My family usually goes down to Victor to watch them off the causeway over to Granite Island, but this year only one of my cousins was going, and she's 14. She's a lovely girl, but... she's 14 >> So yeah, nicked off with friends instead >3
Hung around for an hour or so, then headed for the city. On the bus. OMFG WORST BUS RIDE EVER. There were FIVE PEOPLE around us smoking the whole way of an enclosed, no windows open, 20-minute bus ride to the city. I was breathing through my bag the whole way, my eyes were watering, and I felt this close to passing out by the time we got off in Victoria Square. Oh my gods above that was nauseating. We were all so close to saying something to these guys, but common sense prevailed, because really? These weren't the kinds of people you wanted to be telling off >>
So! City~ which had FRESH AIR WOOT. Headed for the casino for cocktails~ finally =D And a Bailey's, cos I like my Bailey's. Suddenly it was 5am =0 so we headed out to get a bus home, got back into the Hills at 6ish, Colin still wasn't home, bummed around a bit more then headed for bed at 7, hurrah!
So yeah, fun night out =D Apart from the bus from Glenelg to the city, omfg. NEVER AGAIN.
2006 wrap up, just cos everyone is: It sucked, but there were enough brilliant days/weeks/moments that made it happy =3 Specifically~
o Working at Santos (the job was dull and boring as, but the people were great, best boss EVER)
o I GOT DIZZY'S AUTOGRAPH! I will treasure that bit of paper forever.
o Getting my marks back from semester 1 (HD! D! WAI!)
o Maldives and Phuket. Bloody gorgeous.
o My birthday~~~ when Cassie came over from Sinny and we were in the Bradman room and it was all my music and I had so many of my loves there and it was hella fun *^^*
o My Writing Nations tute group. If not for the ridiculous fail at the end of the year that is still being sorted out and is TOTALLY nothing to do with me, that woulda been a perfect class <3
o Talking on the phone~ with my Sallie, and with Saku and Kyuu~ and my Cassie~~ =DD
o Ashes~!
o Christmas day, that was fun with the cousins =D
o Last night/this morning XD
