French test = piss easy
I talked to Madame afterwards and asked if the course was going to get any harder. She told me "Don't worry, it'll continue at the same pace, you just hafta build up confidence" or words to that effect. Nuu~ it's not advanced enough. Have you not noticed~ woman, that I've been sticking si clauses and subjunctives wherever I can, and that I'm one of the few who actually knows what you're on about, regardless of the freaking accent?
So yeah, eventually got her on the right track and she said I can talk to Pascal (head of French) about it, but~ if I move up, it could mean the difference between a pass in French 3 or a distinction in French 2. I need to find me some third years, see if it's worth doing French at all. I really don't want this to be repeating everything I've learnt since year 5.
Me: See, even the stuff you're saying that even the year 12s wouldn't know, I do.
Madame: That's because none of the year 12s have been taught that.
Me: But I have. I know~ this stuff.
Madame: I've been teaching matric for years~ and I've never seen them use 'depuis' correctly.
Brain: Oo Glad I wasn't in your bloody class then. Wouldn't've learnt squat.
Me: Oo We did 'depuis' in year 10.
Madame: Ah, but you have to remember, there are people in this class who have only been learning French for one year.
Brain: That's the freaking point!
Me: That's why I'm asking if it'll get any more challenging. Like, when does stuff like the subjunctive and si clauses and passive voice come up?
Madame: Not until much later, unfortunately. Give them time, they'll catch up *wanders off*
Me: Yeah, how much freaking time? Will they've caught up by the end of next year, when the course is over and I've finished wasting my money on it?
So yeah. Going to talk to Pascal. I got a 17 last year in French and I'm finding uni level too easy. I pity the poor people who got 20 and expected uni to be a challenge.
