OMFG That was so many kinds of cool XDDDDD You two are going to have so~ much fun when they get to Pommyland XDDDDD Which you undoubtedly know already, but still, d00d~~~
Simple Plan were the supporting act, which was cool in itself cos I like Simple Plan =3 Couple of the songs I didn't recognise due to them being on the cd I don't have, but still very cool. The whole arena got out their mobiles for Perfect and waved them around. That looked so pritti and spiffy *^^* And they went for ten minutes longer than scheduled =DD
So, waited for 20 minutes until 9:00, and then~~~ RANDOM DRUNK PINK BUNNY!
...I don't know either. Someone in a pink bunny suit came out, started singing YMCA, then drank a bottle of beer and fell over. He lifted the head at one point and everyone in the mosh pit started screaming, which made me think it was one of the guys from GreenDay, but there was no mention of Random Drunk Pink Bunny after he left, so yeah. Random oO
Also? Adelaideans are a strange bunch. Much squealing went up for the Random Pink Bunny. And the stage crew. "OMG!!!!11one STAGE CREW!!!!!!!!!111eleven *SQUEEEEEEEAAAAAL!*"
We're Adelaidean; we're not used to big bands coming here. They usually skip our country altogether, let alone come to Adelaide, so~ we go a bit nuts when they do come =3
Anyway, GreenDay, as I said, so much of teh COOL. Started out with all these Nazi-esque banners, only with the heart-grenade thing instead of Swastikas. Looked so bloody cool. And when the band came out they were being all general-y and just... guh *_* And he did groin thrusts! XDDD
Halfway through, they dragged random people from the audience who could play drums, bass and lead guitar and made a mini!band with them. We were making a general fuss pointing at Colin when he wanted a guitarist, but obviously he didn't get chosen because we were up the back, and that would've been silly. Still, worth a try =3; While they were playing, the bassist was hooning around on stage guitarless. Looked rather odd XD;;
So yes, those three got to play GreenDay's instruments, which would've been teh cool in itself, but the guy on lead guitar? HE GOT TO KEEP THE FREAKING GUITAR. When we came out, Col was just going, with exaggerated casualness, "I would've liked a new guitar... It was probably a Fender, too." XD;; Poor brother ^^; Just seeing his face at the words "Oh, and you get to keep the guitar." Wow~ that guy was so freaking lucky.
What else? Stuff~ and cool~ and Boulevard of Broken Dreams is still my favourite of their songs <3
I got a hoodie~ <3 I have needed another hoodie for so long. My only other one is my school one, which is, needless to say, not as spiffy as a GreenDay one. $60, which was only 6 less than the actual concert, but~ whatever.
I didn't get to take photos tho ;_; they confiscated my camera when we went in, then proceeded to give it to the wrong person >< I'm lucky the chick who ended up with it was honest, otherwise I'd've lost my camera, which still has photos on it from P!nk last year. And that wouldn't've been cool.
'part from that minor glitch tho, bloody fantastic <3 I can't hear a damn thing apart from the ringing in my ears, I probably won't be able to say much tomorrow, and my feet cane, but my GOD that was fantastic. Dare I say, maybe even better than P!nk. P!nk rocked too tho. I want to do it again~~~ XDD So~~~ worth the $66.
So, in conclusion: WOW~~~ *_________*
