Rivkin's story seems to be dying--only one article in the Australian and nothing in the 'tiser (which meant a waste of a dollar, but whatever). Also four from Dad, an article and opinion thing (consisting of "Rest happily Rene Rivkin. You made stock trading cool. Many young Australians will remember you when we look at our bank balances in years to come." w00t) from the Australian Financial Review and two articles from the Sydney Morning Herald. 'Parently nothing in the Age either. I should prolly look for something on the ABC from Monday night. I reckon it'll be completely out of the news by Friday, unless there's some new development. Like "OMG he was killed! Not suicide!" Or something. Might be one more in the Australian, maybe one or two in the Sydney Morning Herald, but I reckon the story's pretty much done its cycle. Woo! No more wasting money on newspapers! *grooves*

I should probably start organising these things. Do I stick them in according to the paper they came out of or date? Feh.

Haven't really been all that many developments.

Monday: He's dead! =0
Tuesday: He's still dead! =0 *run features on the whole insider trading thing)
Wednesday: Still no signs of coming back to life. He was actually a bit of a bastid, wasn't he? *more features. Or feature, rather*
Thursday: (this is what I'm predicting, anyway) Right, bugger 'im, back to the Bali drug stuff. They're not dead yet.

Then replace the hashes with obviously the pixels (distance from the left, from the top, and the width of the div/box/column/whatever you want to call it).

For the main text box on tpyo I've got "right:###;" (pixel distance from the right side of the screen) instead of width, so that it stretches to fit the window size =3

The [div] tag (and everything inside it, so the style="blah blah crap" bit as well) goes at the beginning of your div (so right at the beginning of, say, the content of your sidebar--the line above "my favourite links") then the [/div] goes at the very end of the div (line below "Created by Kate Franz")

Or, put more simply, replace "insert crap here" with all the crap that's going in the sidebar =D

Ah... hrm... What you've got up there, that's copied and pasted from Notepad, right? Cos~ it's saying all you've got is [div] and [/div] around the "insert crap here" with no style at all, and~ nothing around your sidebar >>; Here's exactly what you should have for the sidebar ('cept of course pointy brackets in place of square ones)

So yeah, replace what you've got for your entire sidebar, including whatever non-working div you've got, and you should end up with a sidebar ten pixels from the top and from the left, 200 pixels wide, tho you won't really be able to see the width because the text you've got in there probably isn't 200 pixels wide, so it won't reach the edge of the div/box/whatever. If all goes well tho, it should~ overlap the other text you've got on the page, outside the div.

well that did work but i have this hideous hot pink colour as the backgrund! can u tell me a no that is for like a soft yellow, or ppl or somehting nice anyway???

Yellow~ is an awkward colour to use, I can tell you that now X3; Blue and brown/tan/cream tend to work really well for web pages. If you've got Photoshop.... 6 or up, I think, then when you're selecting a colour it tells you the hex code for it as well, which is lovely.
