Thu, May. 5th, 2005 08:14 pm'ere we go, money transferred to right account so~ assuming the money actually goes through in time, I'll have $300 tomorrow to go buy stuff for people, including me, because damnit I want Bleed Like Me. If however it hasn't transferred in time, I'm going to have $5.88 to work with, which is barely enough for lunch =P I do have a full Subway card tho, so that's nice =3 Must check balance at uni tomorrow, make sure I've got moneys before I go into the city to spend it.
I hate this time of year. It's expensive =P
Also~ went around to Joanna's today for no apparent reason. Mum and Joanna's mum wanted to show off respective holiday photos, so they did that while we didn't do much. Started talking about uni, then year 12, back through high school before getting back to the joys of Crafers Primary School where we both went. She's doing teaching at uni too, so did a student teacher placement there last year. Anyway, we got onto talking about old teachers and how Mrs Barnett was really the only one left from our glory days.
"We should go see her some time..."
"Hmm... We could go now! =D"
"Omg! What's the time?"
"Dunno, don't have a watch."
"25-past."
"Perfect =D"
So that was random and strangely cool X3 OMG seeing the room where I had Indonesian, and Mrs Barnett's even still in the exact same room XDD Everything looks so small at that school now! The asphalt down the bottom I remember used to be huge~~ but it's barely the size of two tennis courts, the spot outside the library where we used to play What's the Time, Mr Wolf? is about five paces now, and of course the year 7s, who were always so TALL and SCARY are now shortarses... Even Mrs Barnett's short now XD She hasn't changed tho, still lovely old thing *^^* It's really weird going back to a school you haven't set foot in for the better part of a decade.
Computer room's all spiffied up with eMacs, which is quite a change from the crappy old things that were even crappy while we were there, only being able to play... that game. Grandma's something. I forget. They might've had a word processor, but I don't remember ever using the things for anything other than that damn game. We would've attacked the monkey bars and the crappy old tennis courts, but Joanna had a piano lesson she had to teach, so we didn't have time. Must do that some time tho.
And OMG THEY HAVE UNIFORMS! This was absolutely baffeling. I mean, when I was there, only the receptions wore uniforms, and then only for the first two or three weeks. You know, back when going to school and wearing a uniform was COOL. It's still a pretty basic uniform--blue jumper and dark blue shorts, but seeing EVERYONE wearing it, was just... surreal, almost. Not the school you'd expect to see a uniform at. Evidently the work of the new principal *nods sagely*
So yeah, that was fun XD Completely and utterly random, but so much fun invading all the little kiddies. "Look where you could be in a decade! Visiting your old primary school and feeling like an old fart!" X3;;
I want to go into the gym now, cos that always used to be HUGE. Prolly no bigger than the old hall at my other school now X3
edit = Ooh yeah, I forgot to mention: The Australian has NO articles on bloody Rivkin today *^^* The cycle's finished~ I can stop wasting money on papers now =DD *boogies on down*

Date: Thu, May. 5th, 2005 10:29 pm (UTC)My old primary school's really weird now, they keep dropping in numbers, it's down from about 700 to only 200~
I was freaked out when I went back to my old school, cos I had forgotten so much. But I can still pick the spot where we played What's The Time Mr Wolf (did everyone play that?)
