Fri, May. 6th, 2005 03:36 pmI am NEVER parking on the sixth level of Upark EVER AGAIN. That was just TORTURE X______x My poor arms~
Anyway, bought most of the stuff I wanted. I now own a legal copy of Bleed Like Me ♥ Only $23 too, which was nice ^^ Also~ got Mum's prezzie (Indiana Jones box set, going to have to bug Col to go halves on that one), Dad's (dvd rack. Woulda gotten a video rack too, but they stopped being made years~ ago. We've tried looking) and~ Colin's (a lava lamp that I'm going halves on with Mum). Looked everywhere on Rundle Mall for K8's but couldn't find~ it, but I know it's at Marion so I'll have to get over there minus K8 somehow in the next 2 months or so. Make Colin get it for me, he goes to Flinders X3
Also? Uggies are pissing me off now. It's absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to find genuine sheeps' wool uggies for less than $50, which is so not cool >< I can find synthetic ones for $20-ish, but honestly. Two years ago, when they weren't fashion but everyone owned them anyway for bumming around the house, they were, like, $20-$30 for genuine sheeps' wool, $10-$15 for synthetic. I unknowingly ended up with synthetic ones once and they're not as good. Go flat really quickly, bit scratchy, not as warm, and the fuzzy part started separating from the outer bit at one point. Definitely worth the extra for real wool.
Bloody fashionable uggies >< They've gone the same way as the damn akubras. Watch, they'll be fashionable overseas in a year or two and you won't be able to get 'em for less than $80.
I'm going to try Marion, but not hopeful. Otherwise you two are going to end up with synthetic ones, which are still lovely, but not as good as wool. Either that or we go halves ^^;; That's mean, won't do that. Stuff it I'll buy the proper stuff >O I am determined with these damn uggies!

Date: Fri, May. 6th, 2005 01:49 pm (UTC)Ugg boots (http://www.villageshop.us/images/ugg.jpg) are basically~ sheep-skin boots (unless they're bloody synthetic XP) which were originally intended as slippers, so mooching around the house and never leaving the front door, but now~ they're fashion items XP Still comfortable and warm as tho. Why it was that Australia, one of the hotter, drier and generally un-uggy-weather-like countries invented the things before Russia or England, the world shall never know. We're just smurt like that X3
Akubras (http://www.villagehatshop.com/media/akubra-snowy-river.jpg) you've probably seen before but just didn't know what they were called X3 Made from... some sort of felty stiff leather. Stiff suadey stuff. Or something. I dunno, they're a guy thing.

I remember having a pair of those boots (or something very similiar) when I lived in Pennsylvania. As for the hats... those are AUSSIE HATS XD Everytime they have someone from Australia they wear those hats :3

Date: Fri, May. 6th, 2005 02:19 pm (UTC)b) they are made of felt (rabbit fur)
c) i should know they and drizabones are my speciality at Trims. I nearly know everything there is to know about them.
d)they range from $110-over 200. for a decent hat that never, well at least up to 20years wont wear out.
e)they r awesome; they keep ur head cool n warm depending on the weather
ugg boots were prob made due to the fact that most of out country is dessert and in the dessert it gets especially cold late at nite like goes from 40 degrees c to 0 or lower depending on the area and the contrast is wot makes it feel even colder. so us aussies were freezin at nite and reaslised that if u keep ur head (akubra! :P) and feet warm then we would be warm,
da da i know something!!! mwhahahaha
