Title~ Mission Decidedly Difficult
Author~ Annarti
Disclaimer~ Romeo, Juliet and Mercutio aren't mine; they're Shakespeare's, tho I don't know that he'd like to claim them in this form. Fic is mine tho.
Notes~ I ficced! Another textual intervention, as suggested by K8--turn Romeo and Juliet into Mission Impossible. This was fun XD I totally forget what Mercutio was like. Haven't looked at Romeo and Juliet since year 8 English. Meh, I intervened X3

“You’ll never make it in without getting caught. You know that, right?”
“I so will.”
“You know the kinds of security measures they put up around a family like that? It’s not going to be like breaking into one of the places around here where all you have to do is pick a lock.”
“I know that, but I can still get in and out without being caught. Besides, I’m not nicking anything.”
“Far as that Capulet mob are concerned, you’re nicking their most valuable possession.”
“Would you just give me the plans?”
“All right, all right. This is the perimeter wall here.”
“I can see that.”
“The front gate’s not an option. The guards there change over on the hour, never less than four at a time, all very, very sharp shooters. And they all know exactly who you are too.”
“Okay, fine, scrap that one.”
“The wall itself is granite. Huge, polished granite slabs, four metres up, no handy trees within cooee of the place. Two guards on every corner, changed over every two hours, same sharp shooters.”
“And let me guess, barbed wire at the top? Or big iron spikes, maybe?”
“Nah, too crass. Electric fence. Short so you can’t see it from the ground. They like their style, those Capulets.”
“No worries. I can handle that. What’s after the wall?”
“…You’re insane, Romeo. You’ll never get to even touch the wall before they either arrest you or kill you.”
“I have my ways.”
“So you’ve said.”
“Out with it, Mercutio. What’s after the wall?”
“…You’re nuts.”
“I get the point.”
“Okay, fine. More guards. Dunno how many exactly. Can never see how many because they’re always moving. Lots of trees and everything too to hide them.”
“Or, to hide me.”
“Did I mention the sensory lasers?”
“You left them out, yeah.”
“They come in about twenty feet from the perimeter wall. Set off sirens, flashing red lights, Rottweilers, the whole bit.”
“Yeah, you definitely left them out.”
“And if you do by some miracle reach the house, there’s guaranteed to be a Capulet or two watching out the window.”
“…Where do you find all this stuff out?”
“None of your business.”
“Whatever.”
“So does it sound suitably impossible yet?”
“Hang on, I’m thinking…”
“You’re insane.”
“So you’ve said. …Parachutes!”
“…You’re even more insane.”
“I’ll parachute off the closest tall building, land on the roof and find Juliet’s room from there.”
“They have guards and sensory lasers on the roof, too.”
“…Okay, you’re just making crap up now.”
“You willing to test it?”
“Fine. Parachute into the closest tree to her room. Do the trees have lasers?”
“Not that I know of, but I wouldn’t put it past them. The guards’d hear you crash into it, anyway.”
“I’ll be careful.”
“You really think you can do this, don’t you?”
“I know I can.”
“Good luck then, Romeo.”
“Thanks.”
“You’re still insane.”
“Tell me that when I’m back out.”
“Will do.”
