Okay. So. Telstra has broken our phone line. It's the ONLY part of our communication-with-the-world system that Telstra has anything to do with and they broke it >< Basically, they crossed our phone line with someone else's on our street, so now we get a lot of their calls, they probably get a lot of ours, all calls have this terrible background noise so you can barely hear the other person, and, as you may have deduced by now, the net won't work.

They stuffed it up, on Wednesday, and they won't fix it until "at least Monday" which probably means not until Wednesday or Thursday NEXT week. It wasn't the line breaking or anything, they had guys up here poking things and they broke it. OMFG. Permission to hurl an explosive-laden brick through Telstra headquarters now, plskthx.

So I'm in the local library now, on their wireless connection with Colin's laptop <3 Which is sexy <3 But it's not my computer~ or my room~ and it SUCKS XP *shoots Telstra with a rusty nail gun* Also, probably closes in half an hour.

I spent all of Wednesday doing nothing more than reading Mrs Dalloway for English, spent the whole day going "OMG this is boring can't wait to finish~" then finished at 1am, turned the computer on, kinda... stared at the screen for five minutes wondering what to do, then turned it off and went to bed. Yesterday~ wrote my 2000-word final essay on Mrs Dalloway, drove that down to uni and spent the rest of the arvo watching last season of Top Gear.

Then K8 saved me from utter boredom and we nicked off to the pub <3 So that was fun. But yeah, you don't realise how much you neeeeeeed the net until it dies gets broken by Telstra.

And now~ email and the flist until the library closes.

They have Xboxes in the library now. When the hell did that happen? oO

I just love how our one major Australian telecommunications company (but thank god for deregistration this year! suck that down, Telstra! >:D) manages to corner the market on incompetent, lazy and greedy all at once. "Mobiles in the country? Naaaah. Broadband in at least all the capital cities? Naaah. You owe us money? PAY NOW DAMMIT. We screwed your line? Uh, get back to you in two weeks (still charging you for line rental, though). You switched to Optus? Hi, it's the middle of dinner time and we'd like to tell you about our new plan so you can come back to us ..."

*huggles* I nearly went mad when I was netless. At least your library is a decent library (XBoxes? WTF? XD;;) with a network that works, I'm guessing. Hope they fix it soooon T_T
