So. American Thank God You're Here. Colin downloaded episode one, and I~ really don't know what to think of it oO They've kept the format exactly the same as the Aussie version, even with the same theme music and blue writing. The scenarios I recognised from the Aussie version (but if they do the one with the car crash.... NOBODY can top Matthew Newton, srsly <3 <3) and even the scripted bits had some of the same lines.

So yeah, exactly the same format which is nice <3 They didn't try and Americanise it at all <3 Apart from the fact that I knew none of the actors, but hey. I lolled =D Just not as much as the Aussie version. I guess partly because I find Aussie humour funnier in general than American humour (wonder why that could be?) but also, I think it's the audience that pisses me off. They laugh and applaud every single word the guest says for a good 5-10 seconds, and it just ruins the sponteneity of the thing.

Also, they don't have Shaun Micallef. Or Hamish Blake. Or Matthew Newton. Or Cal Wilson.

I'd love to see what the Pommy version's like, if they've even started that yet, cos Pommies do their humour like we do X3

*youtubes it*

Cal Wilson as Miss Caicos and~ Some Boring Woman I Don't Know as Miss Caicos. She was crap >>
Jimeoin as an explorer in an Egyptian tomb and~ Some Bloke I Don't Know doing the same. See what I mean about the crowd? >< I think Jimeoin was still in the "OHSHI--" stage of his tho XD;

And those are all the comparison ones I can find, meh. So I leave you with the afforementioned Matthew Newton in the car crash scene. GOLD <3 <3 <3 <3

edit ~ ......WUT? Okay, that one's sold me, American version is utter crap. *shuns*

I am curious and trying to look it up on Youtube now, but the clips you have linked - I just remember the lady in the first one was the manicurist who marries a delivery guy(?) in Legally Blonde. Anyway, er, I think the problem is that they're missing that element of deliberately making things as silly and as crazy as they can. That audience is ANNOYING and I'm just imagining those little screens that flash "LAUGH" whenever the actors say things.

Also I agree about Matthew Newton and the car crash scene ♥♥♥

I have no idea who she was, but she's got NOTHING on Cal Wilson.

Oh my GOD. Seriously, do you have to have your sense of humour surgically removed before you go to work for an American comedy network? I can't think of any other explanation for being able to kill Red Dwarf, The Office AND now Thank God You're Here. >.>

I feel sad for all the people in America who actually have a sense of humour :(

Oh, and *sets fire to the audience*

PS. Matthew Newton's fine when he's not beating on his girlfriend O_o

It is EXACTLY the same format, even the skits are the same (if far more cheaply done. Red plastic Viking helm? Oi. -.-;;) and yet they manage to bugger it up that much. And they don't have the excuse of not knowing what they're doing because neither do the Aussies! They'd've had more of an idea for their first episode than we did for our first, since they'd've already seen our stuff. Well, the producers at least.

Matthew Newton better on stage than as a boyfriend, yes >>
