Was reading this article as a response to using pink cricket balls (wtf?) in One-Dayers, and when I got to the end they mentioned the logo for the London Olympics and how it was "a puerile mess, an artistic flop and a commercial scandal." Naturally, I had to look it up. And gag. And look up past Olympic logos just to prove how seriously bad it is.


Atlanta. Looking Olympic-y, flame and stars, glory and triumph and all that, bit of Roman pillar going on there, good on 'em.


Sydney. Looking hip 'n' groovy, bloke made out of boomerangs with a ribbon looking like the Opera House, so Aussie you can't believe it. Well done Sinny.


Athens. So Greek you can't believe it. Peace and harmony and all that with the olive, etc etc, nice job Athens.


Beijing. Looking particularly Chinesey, calligraphy brush strokes, RED, running dude doing possibly Olympic-y stuff, nice work Beijing.


...WTF, mate.

You only just saw the symbol? I've been frothing about it for months. It offends my symbol lust.

Especially compared to the capital of culture logo (mmm, looks like torn paper, but that's out skyline at the bottom...) and ESPECIALLY the Liverpool 800 logo

I think there's good reason why I haven't seen the Olympic logo. Dear GOD it's HIDEOUS.

They should have employed Scousers to make the logo. Clearly you lot know what you're doing XD (Paddy's Wigwam! And possbly the other cathedral next to it? And I don't know the rest. But Paddy's Wigwam!)

(PS Adelaide will be having its 200th in, like, 20 years. We're so mini ._. *envies the history*)

Assuming I remember in 20 years time XD Alas, I was too young to remember Australia's bicentenary (1988, so I was 3. Well, 2 for Australia Day) and upon Googling, it appears we didn't have a logo for it then. Here (http://www.bicentenary.tas.gov.au/images/bicentenary_logo_print.gif), have Tasmania's bicentenary logo instead =D

I swear, it was just a big vent so I could go "ahhhh" and move on. Although it is all things that trouble me at times <3 I'm not as sad as the post might have made me seem.

Oh wow, the Liverpool 800 logo is absolutely gorgeous.

I will never be able to see the London 2012 logo without remembering that thing I read - I think on metaquotes - that described it as "Lisa Simpson giving a blowjob". DO NOT WANT. God, it's horrible.
