This is the result:
Sorry, Anna, I tried. It was a close vote, but the majority of the moderators felt that the alternate world elements just were not obvious enough...
not everyone would pick up on the ruling structure and combinations of plant life that don't exist on Earth. Even though this is part of a world that contains magic, each story must stand on its own, and the existence of magic must be reestablished in each story.
So there it is. Thanks for taking the time to appeal the decision through proper channels. For the record, I disagree with the decision, but we go with majority votes in cases like this. You might try posting this on FictionPress.com and providing a link to from your Elfwood bio. That way followers of your series can still access and read the story. Anyway, thanks again for your patience! I think the story is fantastic.

They're still not telling me what the living hell fantasy IS, according to Elfwood, are they? Ugh~ they're all idiots.

Date: Thu, Dec. 13th, 2007 05:51 pm (UTC)But they should say that. I still say that the rules are ambiguous the way they stand anyway. I could write an Egyptian story where Nefertiti gets killed (and leave it at that) and that would be accepted under one of their rules and not another.
It's so ridiculous. Surely with fantasy firmly established as a respected, even scholarly desireable subject, they'd be able to actually know what makes up a fantasy story... (That's a rhetorical question, obviously. ^-^; )
*huggles tightly* At least there're sensible mods on the modsquad even if they completely miss what it is you're actually asking them to tell you.
