I've just spent my last hour wording letters of complaint to Torrens Transit in my head. How's YOUR last hour been? :D

My bus lack-of-service has sunk to a new level of shithouse. On Friday, it was only 12 minutes late that time, so not as bad as it can be, BUT THEN. Bus got to King William Road (just outside the city centre, basically) and stopped at the bus stop there.

And didn't move. For ten minutes. During that time, another person came up to the bus, so he opened the doors, they validated their ticket and took a seat. Still not moving.

Another bus from the route drove past, prompting the person next to me (at the front, because it was late enough that it was packed and that was the only seat left) to go ask the bus driver what was going on. The bus was already late, why were we waiting?

'The indicator isn't working, so I've called someone to come and fix it. They'll be here in about 10, 15 minutes.'

I'll leave you to ponder that for a second and stare blankly as we front row of passengers was doing as he said that.

So we filed off the bus in silent fury and other passengers started asking us what was going on--not the bus driver, us--and either walked home or to the next stop to wait for another bus. Turned out the next bus was the same bus, so everyone kinda hesitated to get on and just gave him dirty looks. And didn't validate tickets, obviously.

AND THEN. On the drive home, there was someone waiting at another stop, arm out to hail the bus, and he just drove straight past. The poor guy had probably been waiting there for half an hour, and this dickhead of a driver didn't even stop for him.

Congratulations, Torrens Transit, for having the single shittiest bus service in the entire country. I just wish I knew who to complain to so that something would actually happen, cos this is just shithouse. And it's not like I can protest by giving them no service, because ALL the public transport south of the city is run by them. I'd have to drive over to Glen Osmond Road to take the Hills run.

Because it's cheaper and I don't have to deal with traffic or parking, though at present I'm wondering if it's worth it.
