[community profile] figjam and [community profile] yrae are done, yaaaaay. Though I may down the track make Fig Jam more landscape and image friendly. Not now, though. That's as far as I can be arsed going with any of them for now. I'll slowly but surely go through adding memories to both of them, too. I use them all the time.

Because of the whole Sydney trip less than two months ago, Alex hasn't come to Adelaide for Christmas/New Year this time, so we decided we'll go see movies on the same day and then Skype afterwards and it'll be like we saw them together. Today we saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. IT WAS AWESOME. I feel like I was just watching the animation for half of it. It was incredible. It really did look like a moving comic book. The way everything flashed around and moved, the dynamic slow-mo 'frames' that just... omg it was awesome. When stuff was out of focus in the background, it wasn't blurred, but it was just colour-shifted a bit, so you got the RGB or CMYK out of register and it was so cool. SO COOL.

The characters and the comedy were so much fun. The story was great. I just loved it. I could go see that again for sure.

...I never mentioned Christmas. Whoops. I'm very in-the-moment when I do tpyo entries. Anyway. Christmas was just a perfect day. Very warm, but up at Mum and Dad's in the Hills so it was pleasant enough. We started with punch, bubbly and the best nibbles you ever did see on the back veranda, hung around there for a while until Laura came up after nursing, and then the most perfectly Christmassy moment I've ever experienced. My cousin lives up in Darwin and flew down that morning to Adelaide. My aunt and uncle knew nothing about this. When she turned up, aunt was instantly in tears and uncle was just :O for a solid five minutes, until Mum asked if he was all right... then he burst into tears, too. I've NEVER seen him so emotional. It was just beautiful and so squee. Even by the end of the day I don't think he was over it, socute.

Lunch was all the usual suspects but not as you know them (for Christmas lunch, anyway). The prawns and ham and crackling and cranberry were in the nibbles; the turkey was in the entrée as a salad with jellyfish (omg it was so good); the salmon was for mains (as a full side of salmon with leek and mushrooms wrapped in pastry); the gin and tonic was the sorbet; and the pudding and cherries were in a cheesecake semifreddo for dessert. I'd say Mum's best Christmas lunch for sure. It was all so perfect and delicious, omg.

Also, Mum got me a mandolin for Christmas XD I happy.

I DID IT. I gave DW!tpyo a new layout! Every time I thought I'd finished, I found a new page that could--and hence needed to--be styled. Ugh so many fiddly bits. Thank god I never have to do this again. Look I even 'made' new icons out of Yoshi pictures I'd already drawn and also icons I made years ago. The cricketer in the cricket icon retired a decade ago and I don't even care.

Now for [community profile] figjam and [community profile] yrae which will be absolutely identical but with different images. WOO. I'll figure out how to get a custom mood icon set, too. A 'narti needs her Yoshis.

[personal profile] annarti Tada! Well, the mobile version, at least, though it functions well enough for desktop for the moment, too. Just the background image is clearly intended for something smaller.

It's not exactly as I'd like it, completely owing to the fact I can't (be bothered) find(ing) any way of moving elements around, just styling them where they sit. I want all the entry information to all go at the beginning of the entry so that can all be one table, then have the subject line as part of the entry itself, but alas. I'd also prefer on the archive page for the list of calendar years to be on the right, AND OMG this bit is pissing me off. The calendars themselves have LINES it's so fugly. This original layout had every bit of styling stripped out, except that the comment links have to be aligned right, and the calendars on the archive have a 1px black border around every cell, and it's part of its default stylesheet so I can't rip it out or override it. SO ANNOYING.

Apart from those reasonably minor irritations, though, pretty happy. Now I can load up the car and go to Christmas Eve at Mum and Dad's :D

Two weeks off woooooo!

I've just finished off the Sydney photobook, so I'll be able to get that printed in the new year. I also really want to get DW!tpyo re-layouted and maybe get a start on bloogum, too. Cross as many things off the December List of Doom as I can, though of course I won't get it all done.

YAY FREE TIME! GLORIOUS FREE TIME!

I've decided I live at Dreamwidth now. I've moved all the typo entries over and will do at least the yrae comm and HB through the week, but that'll be it. Any of the old character journals that haven't been posted to in years can just sit back on LJ in memorium. At some point I may also give the DW a proper layout but we'll see. I mean I've been living with the LJ having broken images for, like, four years now so I can't see anything here changing any time soon.

Everyone who still exists on LJ, gimme all your DW names, unless I've already got them.

There's a huntsman spider up in the corner of the room, and every time Rory sees it and remembers it's there he meows at it in irritation cos he can't reach it. He's tried jumping up on the drinks cabinet, which is on the other side of the wall, but amazingly that hasn't worked either. Biggest thing he's ever been able to hunt and he can't reach it, poor thing.
